Last year, Hallmark Channel cancelled Cedar Cove after three seasons. Interestingly, the show’s third season ratings were nearly identical to those from season two of When Calls the Heart. Is When Calls the Heart in danger? Will the ratings rise or fall this time around? Cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned.
A historical drama, When Calls the Heart follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher who’s been accustomed to the world of high society. Her life changes dramatically when she receives her first classroom assignment in a small coal mining town. The cast also includes Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Chelah Horsdal, Mitchell Kummen, Gracyn Shinyei, and Martin Cummins.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
4/11 update: Hallmark has renewed When Calls the Heart for a fourth season.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: Though Hallmark promoted season three as starting on February 21st, the two-hour movie that aired in December 2015 has a season three production number and Hallmark has included it as part of season three on their website. It’s for these reasons that we’re listing the movie’s ratings as part of season three.
For comparisons: The second season of When Calls the Heart averaged a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.67 million viewers.
What do you think? Do you like the When Calls the Heart TV show on Hallmark? Do you think that the series should be cancelled or renewed for season four?

Please do not Canel When Calls the Heart, we need more family shows like his.. I love it..
I also wish you would bring back Cabin cove
WCTH is one of the best–if not the best– Hallmark series…but do not know why they put show up against their Movie and Mystery Channel stories?! Or why they moved it to Sunday evening?!
Love this show!!!! Put it back on Saturday night!!!
We love this show!!! Nice way to relax on a Sunday night with no crazy detective, cop shows or sports. I love that it is done in a period of time that people forget about. Please do not cancel this show. When Calls the Heart is the best.!!!! We hope it is renewed for another year. I think a lot of people did not know when it was coming back on this year. We didn’t……so missed a couple of episode. I think people were confused about that. We give When Calls the Heart a 10 star rating (on a 1… Read more »
Love the show and thanks to Netflix I believe it has a bigger following than it may seem. Nice to see a period drama that isn’t stuffy. My kids and I can watch it together which isn’t true of most of what is on TV today.
Please do not cancel when calls the heart!! I look forward to Sunday evenings so I can watch it. It is the best show on TV…..there’s no cussing, and people jumping into bed with everyone else. I hated that you canceled Ceder Cove. Why do all of the good wholesome family shows always get canceled???? We are tried of all of the filth and reality shows on tv. That’s why it is so important to keep shows like When calls the Heart on TV. I will definitely be watching it and not the Grammys.
Best show! Keep it going.
Keep the show!!
We LOVE WCTH here at our house! I’m excited that I’ve finally found a show that I love and that my kids can watch with me. It’s clean, yet incredibly romantic and intriguing. The actors and producers are wonderful–I hope this show continues for a long time!
When Calls the Heart offers that which has been absent from TV for a very long time, that being a show of substance, created by brilliant writers and producers and performed by a cast of extraordinary actors. I dare say after years of RARELY watching TV programs of any kind, I for one have been delighted with this show and hope it will continue.
I am concerned because Hallmark cancelled CC with these same ratings. We have slot of support for WCTH however where CC had some negatives. (Because the writers took the show too far away from the original stories that were so popular.). I just hope however long we get the show they will give us a decent ending and not leave us hanging. They did that to us viewers of CC and do Im not watching any new series on Hallmark. But I Will cont for WCTH and hope for the best.
Many viewers were happy with the new male character; CC’s rating dropped most of the season because Hallmark stopped supporting it; I don’t recall any promos during spring Good Witch run; whereas there were many during the holiday movie season run. Further after year one or two, Hallmark stopped showing CC back to back so west coast viewers would not have to watch at 5pm PT (can DVR of course) so wondering if that factored in. Andie M wanting to leave appears to be the main factor given her new pilot… I don’t watch this show and DVR Good Witch… Read more »
