It looks like The Catch has failed to catch on. The ABC TV series has been cancelled after two seasons. The defacto series finale airs tonight.
Created by Kate Atkinson, Helen Gregory, and Jennifer Schuur, the drama follows a game of cat and mouse between private investigator, Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos), and the man she loves, the elusive con artist, Benjamin Jones (Peter Krause). The cast also includes Jay Hayden, Jacky Ido, Rose Rollins, Sonya Walger, Elvy Yost, and John Simm.
Unlike Shonda Rhimes’ series that have also aired on Thursday nights, The Catch has never pulled in strong ratings. Even after extensive retooling as a romantic comedy, season two has been averaging a poor 0.68 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 3.32 million viewers, making it one of ABC‘s lowest-rated series for the 2016-2017 season.
Produced by Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers, The Catch was supposedly a favorite of ABC boss Channing Dungey. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to land the low-rated series a third season.

This show is smart, sophisticated, funny and has fantastic actors in all key roles — it has really found its voice and direction this season. Renew this show!!!

Loved the show, witty, well written, good acting. Ratings shouldn’t always be the number 1 reason to renew.

I really liked the show, and all the characters. However the star, Alice, was ugly. (Sorry) An the FBI lead was also ugly. The show invested in a gorgeous Margot, Val, Falicity, Tessa and handsome Ben and Rhys, as well as most of the other characters, but not in the 2 lead woman Alice and Justine. I think the plot was great, and even had fantastic twists. But we, the audience could not buy in that Ben and Ethan were so attracted to Alice that they would sacrifice for her. Again – sorry.

Nooooo!!!! I LOVE this show!!! I watch this on demand and ugh why must this cancel this show? I have Grey’s and The Catch. Those are my shows and they can’t just cancel it. I’ll sign whatever petition or fill a form out or whatever. This has to come back and with more episodes because 10 is nothing.

I liked The Catch & want to see a third season, if nothing else but to tie up story line.
