It looks like The Catch has failed to catch on. The ABC TV series has been cancelled after two seasons. The defacto series finale airs tonight.
Created by Kate Atkinson, Helen Gregory, and Jennifer Schuur, the drama follows a game of cat and mouse between private investigator, Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos), and the man she loves, the elusive con artist, Benjamin Jones (Peter Krause). The cast also includes Jay Hayden, Jacky Ido, Rose Rollins, Sonya Walger, Elvy Yost, and John Simm.
Unlike Shonda Rhimes’ series that have also aired on Thursday nights, The Catch has never pulled in strong ratings. Even after extensive retooling as a romantic comedy, season two has been averaging a poor 0.68 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 3.32 million viewers, making it one of ABC‘s lowest-rated series for the 2016-2017 season.
Produced by Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers, The Catch was supposedly a favorite of ABC boss Channing Dungey. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to land the low-rated series a third season.

Please don’t cancel The Catch, finally had a show that was pure entertainment. I loved this show it was perfect. We are so tired of reality shows, terrorist, comedies so bad they could not make anyone laugh. This show has it all suspense, love, without gruesome scenes. Its witty and the characters work well together as I previously a fantastically entertaining show. Truly bummed at the cancellation of “The Catch”. When I see the shows that make it, I can only conclude that “The Catch” was too mentally challenging for the general “viewing public”. My congratulations to the producers, writers, and actors for putting together a fun and intriguing show that my wife and I looked forward to every week. It is truly regrettable that we were in the minority. Is there any way we can save this show?
Oh no…i thought the catch was a beautifully made series.i just watched the season 2 finale and was hoping for season 3.you cant leave us hanging like that.those two deserve a happy ending

I am so tired of networks pulling the plug on good shows. Just because you don’t get the kind of ratings you want. I think those who do like the show should get at least one show that they love, and are faithful watching. I thought this show was clever and I loved the characters.
I really enjoyed this show, love all the characters, its witty, smart, and love all the twists n turns it takes. Please have a season 3. I wanna see Alice and Ben finally be together n married!!!

Yes, I think The Catch should be renewed. It’s a very good show with a lot of interesting characters and situations. It’s SO much better than most other shows and I really look forward to watching it every week. Please do something to keep it going!!!!!

The show is smart, clever and… dare I say it … different. Great acting. I saw Faye Dunaway here with Steve McQueen. I didn’t have to watch people burned alive, severed heads popping up, mass murders and general slipping in pools of blood and gore. It is a show that was simply attractive both in people, fashion and scenery. What a shame people opt for the run of the mill.
