The Tiffany network had some sizable gains and losses this week. The Good Wife was up by 20% and had its best night since late October. Mad Love had its best night since mid-March. Conversely, NCIS: Los Angeles hit a season low.
Which CBS TV shows will be cancelled or renewed depend mostly on the series’s ratings, particularly the 18-49 demographic. Before we get to the season-to-date averages, here are the winners and losers from April 29th through May 5th — based on the coveted demo, as measured against the last original episode.
Week-to-Week Gains: 48 Hours Mystery 1.1/4 (+10.0%), How I Met Your Mother 2.8/8 (+12.0%), Mad Love 2.2/6 (+10.0%), The Good Wife 2.4/6 (+20.0%), and The Mentalist 2.7/7 (+3.8%).
No Change: CSI: NY 1.7/6, Blue Bloods 1.6/5, The Amazing Race 2.6/7, and Undercover Boss 2.0/5.
Week-to-Week Losses: 60 Minutes 1.4/5 (-12.5%), CSI: Miami 1.8/5 (-18.2%), Mike & Molly 2.4/6 (-7.7%), Hawaii Five-0 2.5/6 (-10.7%), NCIS 3.7/11 (-5.1%), NCIS: Los Angeles 2.9/7 (-12.1%), Survivor: Redemption Island 3.1/9 (-3.1%), Criminal Minds 3.2/8 (-8.6%), Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior 2.2/6 (-15.4%), The Big Bang Theory 3.2/11 (-3.0%), Rules of Engagement 2.2/7 (-4.3%), and CSI 2.3/6 (-4.2%).

Below is a list of the regular CBS TV shows and their 2010-11 season average ratings to date. It only incorporates the ratings for original episodes and not repeats. The data is sorted by the all-important 18-49 demographic averages. The closer a show is to the bottom, the more likely it is to be cancelled. Fridays and Saturdays are the least-watched nights of TV so those shows get lower numbers.
