The CBS network folks give us their spin on the ratings for last night’s shows; The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Person of Interest, and Elementary.
“THE BIG BANG THEORY” WAS THURSDAY’S #1 PROGRAM IN VIEWERS, ADULTS 18-49, ADULTS 18-34 AND ADULTS 25-54
“Two and a Half Men” Sweeps Time Period and Posts Week-to-Week Gains in Viewers and Demos
“Person of Interest” Place First in Viewers and Notches Week-to-Week Increases in Viewers and Adults 18-49
“Elementary” Dominates its Time Period in Key Ratings Measures
CBS Easily Wins Thursday in Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 for Second Straight Week
THE BIG BANG THEORY was Thursday’s top program, TWO AND A HALF MEN and PERSON OF INTEREST posted week-to-week increases and ELEMENTARY was first at 10:00 PM, leading CBS to its second consecutive Thursday win in viewers and key demographics, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Oct 4.
THE BIG BANG THEORY swept its time period, finishing first in households (9.5/16), viewers (15.38m), adults 25-54 (6.2/17), adults 18-49 (4.9/16) and adults 18-34 (3.3/13). THE BIG BANG THEORY was the night’s #1 program in households, viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34. THE BIG BANG THEORY was on par with last week’s all-time best season premiere deliveries in viewers and demos.
TWO AND A HALF MEN was first in households (7.8/12), viewers (12.67m), adults 25-54 (4.8/12) and adults 18-49 (3.7/11) at 8:30 PM. Compared to last week’s season premiere, TWO AND A HALF MEN was up +4% in adults 25-54 (from 4.6/12), +6% in adults 18-49 (from 3.5/10) and added +130,000 viewers (from 12.54m, +1%).
PERSON OF INTEREST was first in households (9.0/14) and viewers (14.62m) and was second in both adults 25-54 (4.4/10, -0.1 behind ABC) and adults 18-49 (3.1/08). Compared to the season premiere last week, PERSON OF INTEREST was up +2% in households (from 8.8/14), +16% in adults 25-54 (from 3.8/09), +7% in adults 18-49 (from 2.9/08) and added +340,000 viewers (from 14.28m, +2%).
From 10:00-11:00 PM, ELEMENTARY was easily first in households (7.2/12), viewers (11.22m), adults 25-54 (3.5/09) and adults 18-49 (2.6/07).
For the night, CBS was first in households (8.3/13), viewers (13.29m), adults 25-54 (4.5/11) and adults 18-49 (3.3/10). CBS won Thursday for the second straight week in these measures.
