Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

It should have been renewed. I really like the show.
I loved the show and couldn’t wait for the next episode. I also can’t believe they ended the show without a finale. Very disappointing! I would love to see it return for another season, but if not doing another season at least some final episodes for closure of the series.
And one more thing, couldn’t you at least finish it out and let the viewers know what happened?? We all loved the series and just ending it with no Finale is wrong!!
Yes it should have been renewed for more seasons. It was very good and wholesome. No foul language. Not many shows out there that are like that. All the bad stuff was portrayed the correct way. I was shocked that it was cancelled. But it seems the more wholesome the shorter they last. Very disappointed!!!!!
Enjoyed it so much. My favorite all week. Just didn’t like the Maytag man.
Enjoyed the show wished they would have ended with a finale instead of just leaving things unresolved. BRING IT BACK AND GIVE THE FANS WHAT THEY LIKE VEIWING.
so sorry to see such a good show gone.loved watching it.
was trying to find out the return date but saw it would not be back
this really makes me sad.
Cancelled and you didn’t even have a finale???
Really?? That is ridiculous!
yes! there should be a season 4,cedar cove is a great family show,i read the c.c. series and there is so much more to it then letting go at season 3,it there is not at all going to be a season 4 please do a special or 2 part mini series to finish c.c.
I loved Cedar Cove. Sooooo disappointed it was cancelled ! Please at least tie up the loose ends for us.
I loved Cedar Cove. Maybe it would have fared better if the network had promoted it more. I would love to see it return.
So disappointed to see it was cancelled!! At least come back and tie up all the loose ends so we are not left hanging!
I truly like the Cedar Cove series. I did often wonder why each book written by Debbie Macomber didn’t have a movie of it’s own. The series became chopped up and lost continuity as new characters and sub plots emerged. Even though I was disappointed, I still watched with enthusiasm and anticipation. So sorry it didn’t work out. I thought the actors and actresses were cast well for their roles.
Very very disappointed. Nice characters. good stories.
In today’s world, it seems ‘nice’ finishes last.
Very disappointed Cedar Cove will not be returning for another season. Loved the book series and the TV show.
