Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I was a big fan of Cedar Cove and am very disappointed that it has been cancelled. Cedar Cove was much better than The Good Witch.
I am very disappointed with the Hallmark Channel. I have looked forward to watching Cedar Cove for the last 3 seasons and I am now left with nothing. I am not sure if I should invest my time with Chesapeake Shores. Maybe this new series will also end before its time. I am a faithful fan of Hallmark Channel, but this is just not fair. Please reconsider. We need closure.
I am disappointed cedar cove is cancelled I really enjoyed the show it was realistic and I was excited to see the new episodes I would love to see it come back.
So sad to hear this, just like most others on this feed. One of my favorite summer shows. I hate how they do ratings anymore. I DVR everything because of my lifestyle and they DO NOT consider that in ratings. I know I am not the only one who does that!! It seems to be more of the norm these days. They left the season with unanswered questions and nothing to tie up the show. It is like having a top rated dinner at a 5 star restaurant only to be having the plate taken away half way during the… Read more »
Please bring back Cedar Cove for Season 4 – This is the only series I really got into and enjoyed – No-one could be so cruel as to leave us in limbo. Come on – do the decent thing and make us happy!
Thankyou
I am so totally sad that Cedar Cove won’t be returning dot Season 4, having read all the books and loved them I was delighted to find the TV series was just as good, in fact better, it is the highlight of my week watching this, I love the characters and the settings, I will miss one of the best shows I have ever watched and I can’t believe we won’t find out the future holds for our beloved characters.
I too am SO Sad….Cedar Cove was Cancelled. I watched it every week. There are Not too many good family shows anymore. Hallmark is my favorite channel besides HGTV. I have been waiting for it’s…return. You could Atleast have a few shows with a GREAT Ending…..
Don’t Leave US Hanging in LIMBO….
Love this series. Please wrap up the loose ends. You have left us in limbo. Saturday night’s will not be the same without Andie and the other cast members. They became my family.
So sad. I was looking forward to season 4! At least complete the story lines.
Wow! Really. I was hoping to have this series to watch for the summer.
Too many things left hanging. I think Hallmark needs to have final episodes to have closure on this story.
Sad to see Season 4 cancelled 🙁
I will really miss cedar cove – perhaps a 2 hour movie wrapping everything up.
There are very few decent shows on tv now, I loved this show and was really looking forward to it coming back on. So sorry it is not returning. Maybe it is just me, but 1.6 million people seems like a good showing
It would have been nice to have an ending, Seems like it’s always the clean shows that get cancelled.
sad to here no season 4 it was are date show
I really enjoyed Cedar Cove and very disappointed it has been cancelled. Suggest maybe a final season to close the series out would have been nice.
Respectfully,
Tim
