Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Very disappointed to hear about is cancellation. I’ve faithfully watched this show for three seasons and I couldn’t wait for this show to come back this season. With all of the violent shows on TV it was nice to retreat to the lovely town of Cedar Cove.
I was looking forward to seeing Cedar Cove this summer. I really enjoyed the show and the characters. Closure would be nice after all you left us hanging last season.
Yes, I would love to see Cedar Cove return. I loved this show and so did my mother. We watched it together. It would be nice to the fans to at least not leave us hanging and bring closure to it.
Yes I would like the show to come back.
I really enjoyed it. Sad to know it isn’t coming back at this point.
I feel the Hallmark Channel let us down by cancelling Good Witch after saying it would be back on this summer. Too many things were left hanging. Please do a final season to wrap things up in a Hallmark bow
Watched cedar cove every week very disappointed Hallmark would take off such a great show. Perhaps Hallmark could conclude in a finale series People are feeling like just hanging with no answers to an end of story. Please reconsider.
I’m very sad this has ended, my sister will also we very unhappy. We have been looking forward to it starting again. If nothing else, couldn’t you at least do a 2hr or 4hr split in two different nights to conclude the unanswered questions. That way you can at least satisfy the 1 million plus viewers that are disappointed it has been cancelled.
We watch every week. I can not believe Hallmark would leave people hanging with all these no answers. This what we expect from ABC or CBS but not Hallmark
I am sorry Cedar Cove will not be back. There are unanswered questions that were left hanging. It was a very good program – and those type programs are hard to find on TV these days.
Loved the show… sorry to see it gone.. perhaps you could give us one more episode to give us an ending….
Too bad they couldn’t have “wrapped it up” a bit better. This was a good series. Now it seems there are too many very short season series.
So disappointed that Ceadar Cove was cancelled.
Loved the show…. very disappointed that it has been cancelled perhaps you could do one show 2 give us an ending
Boooooo!! I loved this series. Let me say again, Boooooo!
My husband and I are very disappointed cedar cove was cancelled. The series was cancelled with many questions left hanging. This is not the way to end a series! Hallmark has excellent programming and this sudden cancellation with unresolved questions demonstrate the lack of concern for viewers. This is not the mantra hallmark should want to display.
