Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Everyone I know loved the series. I was so upset that I had to wait so long for it to return. It’s disappointing to see it’s cancelled instead of reruns.

I was so looking forward to the show’s return… Just was wondering today when it would be back and to my dismay, found this cancellation announcement. Very disappointed for sure! Hope you change your minds!
Canceling The series Cedar Cove is ridiculous. I watch the hallmark movie channels every night to relax to a nice easy story. I think you would have been better off canceling all the continuous repeats instead of the original Cedar Cove series. I do watch the repeats but it is so continuos after a while it gets boring. Cedar cove was a breath of fresh air each summer.
I was really sad to find out you’ve cancelled Cedar Cove, I’m from that area and looked forward to the 4th season. Yes, you made a mistake in cancelling it.

I would MUCH rather watch Cedar Cove than the Alison Sweeney mysteries! Cedar Cove was a delightful show and the actors made the characters come alive! At least bring it back and give the show an ending instead of leaving us hanging! SO SO SAD!!
Please finish the story and do another season. I looked forward to this show returning only to find out it was cancelled. It is really sad.
I may be late to this, but I’m just seeing this!!! I can’t believe this!! How do you end Cedar Cove in the middle of everything?? Granted, this was not high drama, but it was a wonderful story line that fell in during the summer lull of all other programs. But most importantly, it was delightful! The characters were real, the location inviting, and all the stories drew me in. They were believable and not sappy. Mostly there was a genuine message to all of the characters.
