Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I think if networks are going to cancel their shows (which they do know in advance) they should have the decency to resolve the stories by having a final episode instead of leaving viewers hanging. This also happened with Dallas. It’s unnerving!
So disappointed to hear they cancelled the show! Was looking forward to the new season! Please bring Cedar Cove Back!
I’d like to see a TVmovie to see some loose ends tied up!
I think they should bring Cedar Cove back, I loved the characters and the small town atmosphere was so wonderful!!
Really loved this show.
Yes please bring it back!! If nothing else just show it on Netflix. I am going to miss it!! :-/
Would love for them to bring the show back for another season
Would love to see this show come back for another season
Really nice show, I hadn’t enjoyed a show as much as this for a long time. I was extremely disappointed to see the show discontinued & hope they consider renewing it again. I don’t think the producers did as well with the story line in season 3, though I still enjoyed it and would have continued to follow it. It was like they had produced a show with a whole different dynamic season 3. The whole story that was fun was following the romance between Oliva & Jack which was a very unique and awesome dynamic between the two of… Read more »
Im sooo bummed. I look forward to watching this every summer. Cancelling the show was not a good idea Hallmark!!!!
I have become disabled due to a disease called RSD / CRPS which there is no cure as of yet and has been around since the Civil War. Since becoming homebound pretty much because this disease is extremely painful, I live watching all of the Hallmark shows, and I especially love Cedar Cove! The atmosphere of the town and the people and how they care for each other is a story I can get lost in especially when I’m having a really bad pain day. Please bring this show back and keep up the great work with all of your… Read more »

I’ve just binge watched the second half of season 2 and all of season 3 in the last few days and I”m so into it!!! Please bring back at least one episode, a two hour movie or something to tie up all the loose ends!
