Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?
I just finished season 3 and I think this was a great show. I haven’t watched regular TV since March of this year. I started with Good Witch and after watching it for 6 mo I needed something else . I switched to Cedar Cove and loved it. I really think you need to finish it with a couple more series.
I agree – what in the world!?!? We need to know what happens next… Please rethink another season to at least wrap everything up.
I loved all 3 seasons of Cedar Cove! It was a wonderful series. Please make a Season 4 so we can see the answers to all of the unanswered questions in Season 3!!!
I think that the viewers should at least know what happens with Olivia and Paul.
You have got to be kidding me? Finally, a decent show about peoples relationships with one another and it’s left us hangin up in the air? What will it take to convince the Powers That Be that we want this show to continue?!
Why did they cancel?? So many unanswered questions!! Not fair. I just rewatched it’s again and I’m still annoyed no season 4. Did Olivia decide to leave Jack for the DA? Did Gloria get to be with her family? Did her sister forgive her and their parents? Things are all up in the air. Why why??
Loved every minute of all three seasons.
Why not give us a proper ending!?!
A movie length catchup with some resolution would be awesome, would love to see Cedar Cove and it’s family just one more time, PLEASE!
Please please bring back Cedar cove! I felt they were like family! I loved the show! Do something please!!!
Bring Cedar Cove back.
Loved the Cedar Cove series and soo wish it had not ended! How I wish there was a Season 4. To have watched all episodes and be left hanging that way is very disappointing. Why are the best shows cancelled? Makes no sense. Thank you.
Please bring Cedar Cove back. I loved that show. I wanted to see what happened next. I’m so sad to be left hanging!!
Agreed
Omg! Just finished the last episode of season 3 and can’t believe theres no more! Why? What? How? I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!! Best show. I’m so bummed. Thanks for 3 great seasons. Wish there was more.
I just posted a comment about how much I like this series and I wanted to mention a few other thoughts I had about the show. I pretty much only watch Hallmark channels and reason being that I appreciate the wholesomeness and “clean” presentation in anything they put out while at the same time, they address issues that we are all confronted with in “our society” today. That being said, I also appreciate that they have all age groups represented in the stories; not just the young, attractive people. Life doesn’t stop at 30-35!! We have parents, grandparents, etc. who… Read more »
I feel the same …. such a good show. My Mom & I just started watching it a couple of months ago, so it’s new for us. Good story lines great cast!!!
I just recently started watching this series and I ABSOLUTELLY love it! I have read most of Debbie Macomber’s books but never read this series. I just finished season 2 and am already dreading season 3 knowing that there isn’t a season 4! I have become totally entrenched in ALL the story lines and think it is a very well done show. I adore the location and when I’m watching, I am in another world. I really wish they would bring it back, even if for only for one season to at least bring closure to the story lines. Thanks… Read more »
I just watched reruns of Cedar Cove and would love to see it come back. I think the writers put to many stories together in one episode. Might had more people interested if only a couple story lines each night but in more detail. Example is Blood Bloods last episode of 2021 where it’s one story but involves most of the characters. Best show they had all season,
