NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.

I can’t believe you cancelled this show. This was one of my family’s favorite shows and we never missed a show or DVR. Annie Frost is a wonderful character cast in this role. In fact every actor on here was good, they had great chemistry together and it really showed! If you are going to replace it with a stupid game show (that should be on the game show network not a national network!!!) That will be it, Chase is the LAST show I watch on NBC, why? Please bring back Chase. I am done with all the reality TV crap. Minute to Win It will not last as long as you think; especially when you air it back to back. Chase has depth and will outlast reality. You should bring in Chuck Nores as a guest star. I loved this show and will quit watching NBC because honestly there isn’t much left on that station to keep my attention.
This isn’t the first time NBC has done this to me. My kids overtake the TV until 8:00 and I honestly do not enjoy Minute to Win It. I had my week nights planned out to relax and watch the shows I liked and Chase was one of them. I am so disappointed. The only TV shows I watch now are Biggest Loser and Hawaii Five-O. i love the show it was a little confusing because didn’t know it moved from monday to wednesday. then when got back in to it again it was off again. how dippressing! Unblievable a show with such potial get taken away just like that. i am so tierd of game show and reality show it’s becoming so sickening. please bring it back i look forward to it every week!
The was the one show on regular TV that I did enjoy. Sorry to see it end so quickly….they didn’t even give it a chance!!!
I think Chase is ten times better than the show Harry. I just can’t get into watching the actress playing Harry. It just does not seem to fit her as an actress. However, the lady playing Chase seems to fit perfectly in the role of being a U S Marshall and would be perfect with Tommy Lee Jones who was great in the U S Marshalls movies. I though Chase was an excellent show. It had plenty of good action scenes and I thought the plots were good. I think you should reconsider putting it back on the air. The minute to win it is so stupid, I don’t waste my time watching it. I think you should have had Chase on at 9:oo pm when older viewers watch shows like this. Why would they stop airing such a great show? I loved it and I miss it!! It’s the only good action show on tv right now. Please dont cancel it.
Loved Chase. Searched for weeks before I knew it was cancelled. How could you replace it with a game show, we are in reality TV overload. Chase was my favorite And you think we like hours of back to back game shows and silly comedy. We want CHASE
This was a great show! It was inspiring to have a female main character for once! Who is making these decisions? Ah, men with stiff necks in suits, I presume. Bring it back!
This was one of my favorite shows, I can’t believe they are going to cancel the show. NBC sold Medium another hit to CBS to make room for Jay another let down. They should put Chase on Friday nights, with DVR’s it doesn’t matter when the time slot is anymore.
I really enjoy this show! I wish they would keep it on the air.
