NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.

I have been wondering what happened to my favorite show. Now I find out Chase is canceled?? That totally stinks!! It is so true that NBC finally comes out with a great show and takes it away. I must say I am surprised the Chase show has low ratings….. Now Minute to Win it is not a bad show, but man they show it tooooo much. I wish that networks would give shows a chance. I am not sure how they get the ratings. I know a lot of people who DVR their shows and watch after young kids are in bed. I live in reality I like to watch tv for adventure, suspense, comedy. Not for real life! BRING CHASE BACK!!!!!

I agree, I hate when they start a new show and dont give it a chance. Beside the fact that they then changed the day of the show. People get into a schedule with what they watch and then have to choose between shows and that just sucks!!!! I really liked the show and think it should be brought back!!!!!!!
I think its ashame when they take off good programs I loved Chase no wonder I don’t watch NBC they never want to keep good programs on. I’ll stay with CBS NBC start listening to people and stop cancelling good shows
You guys don’t know a good show from a bad show. I’m so tired of trash TV and when a good show like Chase comes on you cancel it. That’s what’s wrong with TV today. That show was set in Texas and is a good wholesome show. That’s what we need more of.
I totally disagree with the cancellation of Chase. There aren’t to many shows I like and this one, well I never wanted to miss an episode. There are few shows my husband & I like together and this is one even he enjoyed. If we missed it, we watched it on Demand. I do wish it would come back. I’m actually shocked the rating were low, it was put together well, the cast, the stories. Just amazed.
This is why I hate watching new shows! I finally find a good show and then they replace it with Minute to Win It. Come on, how many hours of that show can you really watch?? Bring Chase back!!!
I don’t know why NBC keeps cancelling the good shows and keeps putting in game shows. They networks need to put these shows on Thursday and Friday nights. There is nothing to watch on these nights. NBC needs to keep Chase. It was a good show and they did not give it a chance. NBC needs to listen to people who watch the shows, not the ratings.
It really makes me upset because they have cancelled my show. If I wasn’t in front of the TV watching it I would record it and watch it later. Thanks for cancelling a great show.
NBC what are you thinking? I find it hard to believe people enjoy Minute to Win it more than Chase. I really enjoyed this show. Try a new time slot.
Another good TV drama show cancelled for yet another game or reality show. Am I the only one fed up with the way game shows and reality shows have taken over the networks. I really enjoyed Chase and was looking forward to a full season of this show. Guess I will have to switch to Discovery or National Geographic to avoid the “other” shows.

I agree, Chase was a good show. Frost was a great character, unique in the current line up of shows. No surprise with NBC, though. Harry show is asinine. First episode she ranted against conservatives. I realize not all are conservatives, but any show that makes such a strong political statement right off the bat makes me ill. Role doesn’t fit actress at all.
Annie was great, her partner (forget his real name) does an excellent job (he was great in Pitch Black). Bummer all around. The Almighty Ratings God laughs again…
That totally stinks that Chase has been cancelled. I have enjoyed the show and even got my daughter into watching it. I looked forward to watching the show every week. Game shows are for daytime, not prime tv. Get that crap off and put Chase back on.
