NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

It’s just like NBC to get rid of yet another great show. My husband and I love this kick a** US Marshall drama. Just like we loved watching Journeyman together and the same way…just pulled off the air with no end or closure for the small (millions) of us. I know Journeyman won’t come back…don’t make the same mistake…BRING BACK CHASE!!!!!
I am/was a faithful watcher of the show. Please don’t cancel. There are so many shows that get cancelled due to low ratings and the shows get interesting after watching a few episodes. Give this one a chance. Promote it more.
Chase is one of FAVORITE SHOWS!!!! If the cancell it, they are making one HUGE mistake… We DVR’D every episode so we never would miss a single episode. I sure hope they change their mind and put Chase back on the schedule and SOON!!!!
I’ll miss Chase! I hope another network picks it up.
Chase is a GREAT show and I DVR’d it if I couldn’t watch it because I never missed an episode. Then I was curious as to why the new season hadn’t started. Come to find out they switched the day it was on to wednesday and I never even saw anything showing that it was changing to a new day. I wish NBC wouold bring it back it was my monday night show!
I have to agree with all the above comments. Medium, Trauma,
Mercy & Chase were among my favorites. The only thing left on NBC is L & O SVU and I’m sure they’ll find a reason to cancel it as well. There are a few shows on ABC that I watch but mostly it’s CBS. They seem to know good shows and tend to keep them around. (NCIS & Criminal Minds to name a few) Here’s hoping they keep on what they’re doing!
My family and i never missed a show of Chase. They always kept us in suspense and wanting more! Can’t say many shows offer that these days.
Not only was the storyline captivating but the characters as well..

Chase is a great show, intelligent and with a great cast. It brought me back to NBC but now there is no reason to watch NBC. The execs at NBC are good at dropping good shows after they failed to promote them. If I, the viewer, don’t count to NBC then I don’t want to watch their commercials. I’ll watch CBS, they are so good at everything. TNT, FX and GW also have my attention. If Chase gets another chance, on a better network, I promise to watch every episode and every commercial.
Can’t believe NBC is doing this again! First they cancel Mercy and Trauma and now Chase. Not much reason to watch NBC any longer as Chase is the only show I watch every week on the network.
Chase is one of the best new shows out there and NBC has to do a better job of promoting their shows. Dropping shows for game shows and reality shows is why NBC and ABC continue to take a backseat to CBS. Look how many shows are doing very well on CBS. I was kinda ticked off when ABC dropped The Gates and The Whole Truth after just one season. So many shows out there have the basic same story lines but none of them was about the U.S.Marshalls. Good job NBC. how many more good shows do you want… Read more »
Too bad CHASE was the best new show in 2010 with a great cast and storyline that dared to get away from the usual Tv cop show pablum. The show depicted real bad guys getting handled as bad guys and not social misfits requiring dreay cops acting like dreay social workers. Oh yeas ANNIE’s hot.
I am very upset about this I love this show. If it stops coming on I won’t be watching NBC again. It s about the only thing worth watching on the whole network. I am very disappointed that I’ll be missing my favorite show again this week.
NBC you guys dropped the ball with Southland and now Chase. No wonder nobody watches your station sooner or later you guys will find a way to lose Sunday Night Football too.
I hope another network picks up Chase, also. I never missed an episode.
This totally sucks. Networks like NBC have no clue what a good show is, even if it came and bit them in the ass. It’s no wonder NBC is consistently last in the ratings race.
Replacing one of the best new shows of the season with Minute to Win it, are they completely insane.
I hope another network picks up Chase.
