NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.

Chase was my favorite program and am very disappointed it is no longer airing. Weird the ratings were not good and very surprising. One thing I think is very wrong that the networks DON’T do…… inform the viewers that a show is either being considered for cancellation or that it’s cancelled. I feel the viewers are treated very unfairly. You expect us to support your shows and increase the ratings on your networks, but give us no respect by informing us of what’s going on with the shows offered for viewing and then you decide to cancel or whatever and… Read more »
I can’t believe they took Chase off! What was NBC thinking?? My husband and I loved watching it together! I do have to say that NBC sure didn’t put money into promoting the show! Very Disappointed!! We will not be watching Win it to Win it in its place!
Great NBC was finally making a power move to get back to the top. Would someone tell me why NBC puts up a show against Monday night football and excepts it to suceed………….. Please bring Chase back to us.
I love the series “Chase”. I can’t believe that every show that I am starting to enjoy, seems to be canceled. I think if it is not a reality show, the networks show a few episodes, the audience get hooked, then there we are tuning in and they cancel just when we are really starting to like them. NBC is ridiculous with this thought process. Some of Minute to Win It is okay, but Chase is a great show… Why not air the rest of the episodes??? How do you expect people to find a new show and be loyal watchers when you move it, preempt it and put it on hiatus?? If NBC doesn’t want it I hope another network picks it up like Southland was by TNT.
Bring back CHASE! it was a great show and NBC will be the biggest loser.
I only caught the last 2 episodes aired – do not recall it being advertised and stumbled upon it one night, could barely wait for the next week, and haven’t seen it since… Please bring it back! Great cast and attention grabbing storylines!
I really love Chase and wish they would bring it back. I just can’t believe that so many people are tuning into watch Guy (the food guy) host that stupid game show. I think their polling stats are flawed.
Hey NBC, Bring CHASE back! Please at least let us watch the episodes that are being
kept on the shelves. Try it on a different time and promote it on the Today show and
othr NBC shows. There was not even any of its cast members on shows like “Live with
Regis & Kelly” promoting the show. You, big box earners on NBC, you should know better then not trying the obvious to help Chase succeed!
I LOVE CHASEEEE! it probably got lower rating cause how late it starts maybe it should be moved to friday, i would watch it on friday nights. please bring chase back, i’ve been waiting and wondering why it hasnt been back
As much as I like Minute to Win it, I love Chase. I would hate for it to be canceled. Hopefully another network will pick the show up.
Chase is a great show with a great cast! I wish people would have given it more of a chance!
I am not going to watch a new show until the 2nd or 3rd season. Iam so pissed off. You start liking a new show and they take it off. They don’t give it a chance.
i liked it at first then it seem to get so the every show was the same and you knew the answer before it was 1/2 over. no surprises ending.
Chase is a great show. They should bring it back. Of course your gonna lose ratings when your up aganst criminal minds. Whos dumb ass idea was is to move it to that time slot.
