Last season, the Code Black TV show started off with mediocre ratings and the numbers plunged in week two. It looked like the series would be cancelled but other CBS shows did even worse so Code Black was renewed for a second season — with some behind-the-scene changes. Will the ratings improve? Will there be a third season renewal? Stay tuned.
Code Black takes place in an Emergency Room in Los Angeles — the busiest, most notorious ER in the nation. The staggering influx of patients often outweighs the limited resources available to the devoted doctors and nurses who work there, creating a condition known as Code Black. In season two, the cast includes Marcia Gay Harden, Rob Lowe, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Harry Ford, Luis Guzman, Melanie Chandra, William Allen Young, Boris Kodjoe, and Jillian Murray.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Code Black averaged a 1.27 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.11 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Code Black TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season three on CBS?

Code Black is a great show! Keep it on the air!!!
Renew Code Black please! My family loved this show. Very few programs wring emotion from the viewer the way Code Black does. We found ourselves rooting for these Dr.’s as they gave themselves over to save their patients. The cast is awesome! Thank you
The best drama available on TV last season; in the opinion of my wife and myself. Always suspense filled, spell binding, well written and presenting well thought and implemented plots. Values that matter in a landscape of TV shows that are sometimes downright embarrassing for their lack character! Most people I know that have watched this show score it as one of the most deserving shows to be continued for this season and many more if the quality continues as it has this past season 2!
Please renew code black. It’s one of the best shows on TV!
I agree I love code black also Chicago med RENEW BOTH PLEASE
Please CBS Give us a season 3 of CODE BLACK
It’s AWESOME
Please rernew Code Black one of me and my wife’s favorite shows
love this show please don’t cancel. I don’t usually like this kind of show, but this is one show that I just love.
Love it.. bring it back!!!
Please bring back Code Black in the Fall 2017 line-up. My husband and I watch all the medical series (Code Black, Grey’s Anatomy, Chicago Med, Genius) in our eyes Code Black is at the same level of Grey’s Anatomy. How can you keep Chicago Med and end Code Black? It is a will rounded cast representing more minoritys and it had great story lines.
