After months of waiting, fans of the Continuum TV series finally have an answer to the question, “Will the show be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?” The Syfy series has been renewed for a fourth season but this will be the final season as well. Six new episodes will wrap the series.
Continuum revolves around a female police officer (Rachel Nichols) from the future who gets caught up in a conflict that spans between 2012 and 2077. The cast also includes Victor Webster, Erik Knudsen, Stephen Lobo, Roger Cross, Lexa Doig, Tony Amendola, Omari Newton, Luvia Petersen, Jennifer Spence, and Brian Markinson.
Here’s the renewal announcement from Canada’s Showtime channel (where the show originates):

What do you think? Are you glad that Continuum is returning for a final season? Do you think the show should have run longer?
My family and I love the show we got hooked on netflix and then found it on the syfy channel it was wonderful too see such a strong female role. Plus the possibilities of alternative realities and how ones perceptions and beliefs could be questioned….I am from the Usa and would love for it to continue for more seasons it is unfortunate that the canadian show is stopping it so early…..
My family and I love Continuum and are grateful for 6 more episodes to close the series. However, I wish the series would continue for two more seasons because it definitely has a growing fan base. I hope the studio reconsiders and realizes the show’s future potential and surprises the fans with more to come…
This show can go in so many directions. It blows my mind it is cancelling. Rating scores are for the birds. I know a lot of people who watch this show. Most people record the show to watch at another time. I do not believe they are catching everyone who watches the show. I cannot see how this raps up in 6 episodes. I am glad it is not just cancelled and that there is going to be an ending, but there are so many options even if they think they lost viewers. I hope another network picks this up.… Read more »
basically a good show. I thought season one was the best. season two a bit uneven.
I am glad the entire cast will have another season even though it will be very short.
This is one show the writers have their chance to show us the best of them and their creativity will come to keep us thinking. This is a show for the brain and not some dumb sit-com, it is to give us something to think about.
Good luck to the entire cast members and the writers of course.
Thank you all.
I love this show! Glad for a finish, but really wish it was many more seasons! Will be very sad to have it end. One of the best shows ive ever watched
Glad that they’re renewed but think the show and concept has a full season or two left. Season three was a bit convuluted and hard to follow especially w the two kieras and two alexes. Writers should re-visit what made the first two seasons so great.
I am amazed that it is being canceled with such a large following. Especially after a great third season. I glad they are wraping up the show with the show with 6 episodes so we are not left hanging but I wish another network would pick it up.
I love this show I am so glad it was not canceled,However I do feel that it does deserve to keep going. It’s better then The big bang Theory! There is so much we can learn from this show why end it? Please reconsider more episodes!!! Help our world to see how to heal from all the issues going on many of which are very dark. Please show the light on all the issues we have and are going to have. I say keep it going !!!!! Just as Star Wars, Star Trek there is always more to learn!!!
VERY HAPPY we will have a proper ending to this wonderful series.
I’m stunned. Thought for sure it was over. Thanks for the renewal, even if it is only six episodes. Very, very rare a series gets the opportunity to construct an ending. My appreciation to the cast & crew. Your contribution to Sci-Fi will be missed. Good luck to you all!
I think they should finish the story with at least 12 or 13 episodes to allow for enough detail and a good storyline. I think Simon Barry wanted more seasons, at least 3 more seasons. They are probably running into cost issues, or perhaps administration issues.
Wow , this is such a surprise!! A good show actually being renewed. Bravo!!
I like the show quite a bit, and even though I’m glad it’s back for a short while….I really don’t know how they can go on without becoming hokey at this point. They were coming to a close, and then they threw a wrench into the works just before they left to give them something to possibly come back to. But by this point most of the mystery has been put out there so there’s just this one goofy situation to have to deal with now. This is the kind of show that has an interesting premise to start, but… Read more »
finally, but I sure wish there were more than 6 episodes, that kind of sucks. It would have been nice to have at least 12. It is one of the few shows sci-fi shows that I really like.
My wife and I tried watching the pilot for the librarians tonight and got halfway through, when my wife stood up and says I’m going to bed. She absolutely hated it.
