Fans of Syfy‘s Continuum have been waiting to find out the fate of the series. The show hasn’t been renewed yet — but it hasn’t been cancelled either.
Continuum revolves around a female police officer (Rachel Nichols) from the year 2077 who ends up being transported back to 2012 with a group of rebels. The cast also includes Victor Webster, Erik Knudsen, Stephen Lobo, Roger Cross, Lexa Doig, Tony Amendola, Omari Newton, Luvia Petersen, Jennifer Spence, and Brian Markinson.
The show’s official Twitter feed recently announced that series creator Simon Davis Barry would be doing a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) in the near future — “as a thank you” to the fans.
A follower asked if this “thank you” was meant as a goodbye to the series. The response was “Hell no! ;)”.
In the past several weeks, Barry and writer Denis McGrath have both indicated that a decision would be coming “soon.” Hopefully “soon” will be soon.
The third season of Continuum finished airing in late June of this year. Here in the US, on Syfy, the season was down by 30% year-to-year in viewership.
What do you think? Do you like the Continuum TV show? Are you hoping for a fourth season?
12/8 update: The series has been renewed for a fourth and final season.
I looooove Continuum!!!!!! Please renew it for Season 4! We need a show like it on t.v. right now!
Definitely continue it! Make Netflix pay pay for it.
PLEASE RENEW IT FOR SEAPON 4!!!! It is a fascinated and and unique show! Inlike any other other!!!!!
Your views are multiple per TV accessing it, Netflix included. Continue it.
As the show shows; the future is hard to determine and with efforts toward a goal, can be influenced.
Your description of the series has an error. It should read:
Continuum revolves around a female police officer (Rachel Nichols) from 2077 who gets caught up in a time-traveling conflict that spans between 2012 and 2077.
Thanks for the note!
This show is awesome with added twists and turns that don’t keep you on the edge of your seat but keep you coming back for more. With things like on demand and paid subscription apps people don’t watch tv like they used to so what is the point of getting tv ratings when people now watch tv at their leisure.
This is one of my favorite shows, and I can’t wait for the next season.
Of course I want the show to continue! It is so unique and each season gets better. Man up and renew it.
Only just Started to watch season 1 and 2 on Netflix it’s great I really hope it gets renewed
Continuum is a great show keep it going! Intelligent and creative is how I describe the show and not much on tv finds that niche.
My husband and I love the show! Hoping there is a season 4!!
I didn’t even know it was on syfy, I watch it on Netflix. The second half of this last season got really good.
I am continuum addict
I’m a fan of the show, but I also understand the business aspect of things. My suggestion would be to either do a final season or a special 2-hour episode that wraps it all up.
Continuum is one of the best shows in years. What is Showcase’s problem? SyFy is willing to renew. It is on Friday nights at 10pm and it still does very good. That is the worst TV slot a show can be given. If they are waiting for some “magic results” in their ratings during re-runs, then they ( the Showcase programing executives ) should find another line of work. Their viewer ratings are based on an outdated model based on demographics from the 1970’s. Unfortunately, their business model is outdated and broken. They seem to only care about short term profits… Read more »
I couldn’t agree more, especially with the comment about the Friday night time slot! This is the place they put old shows that were once great but have tanked to die. Not new shows with an incredibly creative premise that allows for a storyline to go and grow in endless direction because it is not bound by time! That little nugget allows for developments of epic magnitude to simply be erased if need be, and the storyline to shift as much as time shifting does reality. Don’t just renew this show, pull it out from the cellar and SHINE SOME… Read more »
couldn’t have said it better myself. renew the show.
Indeed!!! Excellently stated.
Thank you for your comments. You said it better than I could. The Friday slot is less relevant with Comcast on demand and various recording devices. CBS just announced that Amazing Race is moving to Friday. This is one of the highest rated shows on tv and I don’t think CBS wants to kill off a golden goose. I think they recognize the new realities of recording and on demand viewing.
