(Los Angeles) – Discovery Channel announced today it will air COOPER’S TREASURE, a new documentary series that will follow the quest of treasure hunter Darrell Miklos as he attempts to decode the treasure map of his boyhood idol Gordon Cooper.
In the 1960s, astronauts were rock stars. Gordon “Gordo” Cooper was one of these original icons. He is considered one of NASA’s original space pioneers, uncovering troves of data and taking some of the most iconic photographs of Earth. In 1963 onboard Faith 7, Gordon smashed the record for the longest space flight by completing a 122 hour mission aboard but during this mission he also discovered something incredible… a secret he’d keep for decades.
While circling the Earth, he noted an anomaly around the South Caribbean. During his 122 hour journey, he allegedly captured over 100 more of these anomalies. Working for decades in secret, Gordon created a map that he believed could uncover billions of dollars-worth of treasure.
Before passing away, Gordon shared his secret with his long-time friend Darrell Miklos. Gordon shared his files full of meticulous research with the hope that his exploration would continue and the treasure would ultimately be found.
Darrell is now setting out with a team of seasoned explorers and researchers to uncover treasure and once and for all accomplish Gordon’s long-held dream.
COOPER’S TREASURE is produced for Discovery Channel by AMPLE. For AMPLE, Executive Producers are Ari Mark and Phil Lott. For Discovery Channel, Executive Producers are Joseph Boyle and Coordinating Producer Brian Peterson. Hello,
looking for a team to make a documentary together about “The Golden Owl” by Max Valentin and Michel Becker from France. This game has been going on for 29 years. I solved all 11 puzzles. If you are interested, I will give you all the information I have. The solution to this game is amazing.
Best regards.

My wife & I love this show. Please keep it going. This & Oak Island are awesome. DON’T cancel it, please !
Yes! We live in a Florida and enjoy the history of the finds. Finding when the show is on or cancelled is difficult. Treasure is found in Florida waters whether you are a seasoned hunter or not. Keep it on please!
This show has several problems:
1) to Slow
2) every third word is paying homage to gordon cooper
3. The star isn’t likable in my opinion
4) they don’t do anything
5) we don’t care about the star’s father’s financial problems
6) there are not any interesting side kicks.
It’s fine the way it I, keep it on.
This show is extremely BORING!!! Please cancel it!
This show is so exciting , I love it ! I have it set to be dvd’d but it didnt come on this past week. Please put more episodes on. I love it and I have told all my friends about it.
we all love this show do not cancel it
Maybe they would help him I live in Florida.
I love this show in awe. I would like to get ahold of Darryl and show him some maps my father left me 1963-71-72-73. They were put out by the U S Department of Commerce. Some places that are no longer there. I would love to share them with him as I have enjoyed them for years. I am getting up in age and would love for them to go to someone who is on my page
I am so excited about this series. I’m sitting on the edge of my seat just in awe of what he is doing. I live in Florida and I think his Dad is a jerk can’t say what I’d like to. I will watch all of this series. The more I watch the excited I get
I just watched the first show of Cooper’s Treasure and loved it. Having grown up watching every lift off and following every astronaut since the beginning of the space age I am so excited of watching the old clips and seeing this show blossom.
You can count me in to watch every single show.
Shouldn’t this info. Files and such, go to his Children? How did this guy have the right to It?
There are no more fields.
This show is a fraud. I know the capsule never had any equipment that could detect treasure from space. Gordon Cooper hung out with members of Real Eight treasure salvors. I knew them too and worked with them. I just put the capsule manual on Heritage Auctions to be sold in May. I will guarantee that there was no equipment like he described in the capsule.
I will guarantee that if there would have been Top Secret Equipment in the Capsule, it would have been in that there manual you’re trying to sale.
I found a shipwreck probably just by chance following info on this program.
This is intriguing to me as is The Curse of Oak Island. It’s all about the hunt folks for the always elusive treasure that makes these shows so interesting in my opinion.
Can’t even figure out when it’s on for christ sake. So busy taking about it you are forgetting to say when it airs.
Miklos and his father are infamous for duping gullible investors and back-water government officials with semi-plausible sounding stories of long-lost treasures just ripe for the plucking, usually based on “secret research” and dubious treasure maps entrusted to their care by “long time friends”, now conveniently deceased. Gordon Cooper was known around NASA to believe in a lot of far-fetched theories himself. With a TV series lending cover and credibility, Discovery is aiding and abetting the work of known scam-artists. This is not a harmless treasure hunting caper….cultural antiquities are blasted with dynamite, coral reefs are endangered, maritime archeological standards are… Read more »
Mr. G. Dela Graso, I read your comments regarding the Discovery Channel. I am very interested to hear the basis of your opinion. Do you know the Micklos’ personally. Have you ever worked with them? Please let me know. Thanks. G.M.C. Doub
I suspect this will be little more than another Oak Island treasure hunt, where the series tickles you with little tantalizing tidbits of clues, then ultimately leads you on with ongoing failures…ultimately boring in the long run…
