The CW is only introducing one new TV show for the Fall 2015-16 season — Crazy Ex-Girlfriend — and it’s unlike any of their other programming. Will it be a success in the ratings or a flop? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
On the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend series, Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom) was dumped by Josh (Vincent Rodriguez III) back in high school because he felt she was over dramatic and a little bit crazy. Some 10 years later, the two run into each other in New York and Rebecca’s feelings for Josh are rekindled. He’s moving to California and she decides to do the same. Has anything really changed? The rest of the cast includes Santino Fontana, Donna Lynne Champlin, Pete Gardner, and Vella Lovell.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/11 update: The CW has renewed this TV show and 10 others for the 2016-17 season. Details here.
4/19 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
The best show on television – it’s anything but corny…smart, witty, brilliant are the words I would use to describe it. And it’s also got heart.
This show is refreshing and talent is there. The only reason ratings were low was because CW put it on DWTS Mondays at 8pm Wake up CW put it on a night nothing is great.
So how come the X-Files, Supergirl, and Superstore seem to be doing just fine on Mondays at 8 pm?
My guess is that it’s because the vast majority of the American viewing public is mindless and has no taste.
Or maybe because they are better shows.
No, they’re terrible shows and CEG is amazing. The majority of the viewing public just like shallow, vapid, dumb and mindless programming. CEG is too smart for them.
This show was too corny for me. But it has really grown on me. Loved their Christmas carole…..California Christmas.
I hope they keep this show. I enjoy it and watch it on Hulu every week.
This is a great show. I didn’t think I’d like it, based on the name and premise, but I recorded it for kicks and fell in love. Most shows bore me, but this one honestly has heart and it shows. Talented, charming cast, witty dialog, and musical numbers that are better than than those offered in most Broadway musicals. I guess it’s too late to change the name (“Head Over Heels” or “Over the Moon” would have been cute, less off-putting titles), but maybe word of mouth from fans will save it.
Thus show is great. If more people knew about it, I am confident in saying that it would smash Zooey Daschanel’s show if they went head-to-head. Only problem is: who watches “The CW”? This is honestly the first I have ever tuned to this channel, and it is only because someone told me about this show.
I didn’t think that I would like this show, but it is hilarious. Please don’t cancel this because it is so original and funny. The more episodes I watched the more I like it.the show is a keeeper!
*GREAT* SHOW – Wonderful, highly talented cast, unique premise (for a tv show), extremely creative black-comedic teleplays, and pretty decent general production quality. Definitely does not cater to any “lowest common denominator” – by design – but unfortunately that pretty much automatically means pretty low ratings.
Regardless of the final outcome for the show, Rachel Bloom’s future certainly looks VERY bright.
This show is entertaining and original, and it even has some unexpected heart. It’s really a shame that they went with that title, because that probably alienates a lot of potential viewers.
This show is hilarious, and clever. Maybe it needs better promotion. I really enjoy it!
if the cw doesnt cancel this show, its proof that they dont care about making money, becuz this show is one big fat ratings loser. and why? becuz it SUCKS
You seem smart. I bet you are. Really smart. Insightful comments from a super smart person. Smarty.
This was always going to be a tough sell for The CW… It’s different and people are scared of different. Most people deemed the show ‘stupid’ before even watching it, but wait… Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is actually the most original new series this new fall season… And most of all… It’s genuinely funny! Rachel Bloom, the lead, is magnetic… SNL would be lucky to have her. Great to see this show have a surge in ratings… Eventually the ignorance will fade, people will accidentally see an episode or excerpt and say… ‘Hey, this is actually REALLY FUNNY!’ The age old story… Read more »

This show has the worst promo picture I have ever seen in my life. It makes me not want to watch the show based on her lame/ridiculous expression. Cancel already. Don’t waste anymore of the studio’s money or viewer’s time. .04? Wow. The worst….
Another smart person making smart comments. Thank you, very very insightful.
Wouldn’t want to waste the studio’s money. We should start a foundation or something.
