This season, NBC has found ratings success with new TV series like The Blacklist and Chicago PD. Unfortunately, many of their other new shows — Sean Saves the World, The Michael J. Fox Show, Ironside, etc. — have been cancelled or soon will be. How is Crisis doing? Will it survive to see a second season or will it be cancelled as well?
An action/thriller series, Crisis finds out what might happen if the children of powerful people from Washington, DC were to be held hostage. The cast includes Dermot Mulroney, Rachael Taylor, Lance Gross, James Lafferty, Max Martini, Michael Beach, Stevie Lynn Jones, Halston Sage, Max Schneider, Joshua Erenberg, and Gillian Anderson.
The show debuted in mid-March to a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.5 million total viewers. It was a less-than-impressive start for Crisis and it was in second place in its timeslot.
The second episode dropped 17% in the demo and 21% in viewership. That would be a reasonable second week decline but the ratings were already low to start. Last night’s episode fell again, to a 1.0 in the demo and 4.32 million.
While it seems likely at this point that NBC will let all 13 episodes of Crisis air, it’s higly unlikely that the network will be ordering a second season. The numbers are just too low at these levels.
Hopefully the producers will give loyal fans some closure by the end of the first season because that’s likely all they’re going to get.
But, what do you think? Have you been watching Crisis on NBC? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
So far — I like it — Keep it — If my feelings change, I’ll let you know! Need a few more episodes.
PLEASE KEEP-it is riveting!!! Maybe it should be on during the week rather than Sunday when there is a lot of the sports going on!!!
Keep it coming – being opposite the mentalist is rough for those of us who have been faithful watchers. NBC just needs to learn the best time for their shows when they have good ones. The Big problem with shows like this is you just run out of hostages after awhile.
I’m loving it so far! Just found out two shows I watch on ABC are being cancelled so I am totally counting on this to survive! PLEASE RENEW!!!!!!!!!!!
I watched the first episode, but lost interest in it by the end of it. This show is just meh for me.
Let it conclude at the end of this season. Since LOST I have not watched multiseason shows unless each episode stands alone or at least no more than two continuing. While I am at it don’t interrupt the season with breaks. Let tye show run to conclusion, please.
Basketball is really F-ing this show up. It makes THE GOOD WIFE late, so I haven’t watched the second or third eps of CRISIS the way I thought I would. And I haven’t made the time to watch it any other time. Sunday night at ten has been a favorite time to watch TV throughout my life. I wish basketball would die.
I love the show, please do not cancel or at least let it run til the conclusion
Keep it! I have been loving it so far!
keep it
Keep it. It’s well acted and unique.
Keep it, but don’t drag it. Episode 3 dragged a bit. This could have been be finished in 6 episodes if the screenplay were crisper.
I like the show, but if you miss an episode you’ll be lost. There is too much continuity. It’s a finite series.
I like the show and I have been watching. So I hope it is renewed. If not, well…another good show down the drain because the POTB chose to look at numbers instead of giving a show a chance.
Keep would love to see where it is going.
