France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
This is a really good show. Original and fresh in concept. The cast was very good and kept you interested from the beginning to the end. This show is better than many shows now on NBC. I hope NBC takes a chance and airs this show for years to come.
I love this show! If they leave us hanging after that last episode – I’m done w that network!
I just bought the series from Amazon because I had missed episodes on NBC. It was an accident that I found the show. This is my kind of TV. If its on a channel I can get I will watch. IF not I will hope for DVD release. NBC seems to have a problem with letting us know of new shows or when there broadcasting. Example-ZERO HOUR , could not keep up when it would be shown.
I recently purchased Season 1 of Crossing Lines and will do the same with Season 2 if given the opportunity; however, I still wish to watch it on a network channel first.
This is a GREAT show and should absolutely be renewed. Everyone I told about the show LOVED it. It is refreshing to see something where the actors are great looking, but not in the traditional idea of handsome/pretty. The stories are exciting and take place in exciting locations. I found the show a refreshing change from USA centric detective series.
I hope they still go ahead with it as its a good show…..Its bad when they do good shows like this then cancel them
I love the show, I don’t find much of interest on tv these days and it seems when I do they get cancelled. So I’m hoping on hope the renew Crossing Lines
I loved Crossing Lines. It was so briliantly written and acted. My husband could not understand the dialogue so he did not watch it with me. I want it back.
Great Great show – don’t cancel.
Yes…love the show…hope it runs a while…kind of like a criminal minds on the international stage. Keep it going!
I like this show very much please don’t cancel it I like William Fichtner and Donald Surherland it is a great show. I would watch it on a cable network if need be
I have already introduced my opinion regarding airing Season 2 of Crossing Lines on a network channel in the U.S. and, apparently, there are many, many more followers than just I. Additionally, if the decision is to not air this program in the U.S., please, at the least, allow us loyal followers the opportunity to purchase the entire Season 2 in the English language in Region 1 (U.S.& Canada). I just reserved Season 1 for purchase and would do the same with Season 2 if given the chance. Thanks a bunch!!!
Please pick it up again. I love it. The plots are unusual and I love seeing places that I’ve traveled to before. I looked it up to see what was going on. Please don’t cancel! Thanks.
Its a great show inteligent and very Well acted, the fabulous location are even better, I wish they speak less in English and more in French or German or whatever Eruopean Country they are it’s more real.
Renew the show. It was great and one of the best.
I can’t believe you would consider canceling one of the best shows you’ve ever aired. It’s the only show that brings together all 3 generations living in my house. Please don’t cancel it!!
