France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
Yes, I would like to see a new season.
I’m hooked. Please renew!!! One of the yearz best kept secrets. It’s too bad that series like this never get noticed Until it’s too late. I love this program.
We love this show! Please bring it back.
Loved the writing and the show. Please renew same. Actually, there wasn’t
any publicity about it in the US. Watched it on NetFlix and was wondering
why it wasn’t publicized.
I love this series. Maybe the networks need to do their homework. Americans are sick to death of most of the garbage they are feeding us. This series is a keeper for a change!
Please renew this show. I love it.
I love the show. Just finished season one on Netflix and anxiously await session 2.Please NBC pick it up.
I don’t watch much TV either and I found this on NETFLIX – I am hooked. I am searching the web to see where I can start watching Season 2. I travel through Europe often so I can really appreciate this show. It’s a hit. More people need to learn about this show.
I don’t know how to get the word out but I love it.
Please renew……
Great show, renew it!
Great show. They should renew.
This is a terrific show….TOO BAD I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW ABOUT IT TIL NETFLIX.Yep just found it…March 2014….NBC…..you suck
This is a great show and should have another day in the son light. Not being set in the US is what makes it,
I agree. It should be back. I found the first season on Netflix and really enjoyed it. I hope it comes to a cable channel.
I agree. Much better than ncis, LA, CSI, Criminal Minds. As good as 24. Please bring back. Just not om cable. Would do well on CBS or USA.
Just found Season One on NetFlix.
Excellent series and it should be renewed.
We prefer cable rather than on NBC.
Please renew. I don’t watch much TV and found on Netflix OMG this is so much better than CSI, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Bones and Crossing Jordan ever were. The acting, drama and even its darker nature all fit perfectly balanced. I only just found this gem on Netflix and have watched all 10 episodes. If there were more programs like this on US television I would actually look at mainstream networks. I tend to stick to PBS specifically because the US shows lack depth.
