France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
I’ve enjoyed the show very much. Its smartly written and has a good pace. I also liked the uncertainty created, in one of the early episodes, when the woman on the team died. When everyone is vulnerable, the tension is much more real. So glad to hear the second season will be shot this year!
I loved the show. I watched it on NBC last year and hope they or somebody else in the US picks Crossing Lines up. It is good drama and acting.
I saw the first season on Netflix and I’m totally hooked. It really gives a European flair and it’s amazing that they casted an Irishmen, Frenchmen, Italian.. I’m looking forward for the second season whether or not NBC revokes its license.
I watched it on netflix and it is an excellent well crafted show. I got caught up in the characters and have to see season 2. If they don’t continue it they are crazy. Do some better promo this time.
Absolutely want to see season 2. Please, please bring it back.

Yes. never saw the original airing but watched on Netfix and Im hooked.
I just watched the first season on Netflix. And can tell you this if I had known about this show I would have watched it over and over again. So much better than reality shows and really liked it better than law and order or othe shows like it. If nbc does not keep it thsn I will watch where ever it is.
Just found this show on Netflix streaming. Definitely would watch it if it was on a cable channel. It’s interesting, smart, and I really like it! Missed it on American TV last summer, but would certainly watch faithfully if they put it on again.
I just finished season 1 on Netflix. This is a great show. The characters are well-drawn and complex and the plot is intricate and very different than the drivel often seen here in the U.S. I love the European locales. This show must have been poorly promoted because I did not hear of it when it aired on NBC. I encourage NBC to give it another try. If you give it proper promotion, viewers will find it and stick with it because this is a quality show, as well as very entertaining. And sorry, Ann Marie, but Arabella is a… Read more »
