France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
We liked the show and think there are too many loose ends remaining to cancel it at this time. Please bring it back soon!
Totally hooked!! Please bring back! Never heard I
of it until I saw it on Netflix!!
I Love it! please make more seasons
Please bring in Season Two.
Brilliant series!! I WISH American networks would take a clue and start developing shows like this. Hope Season 2 finds a US home.
I love this show. I am watching it on Netflix. I hope NBC will run it, but where ever it ends up I will watch it.
I loved it!
Around the world, keeps me interested .
Just discovered Crossing Lines on Netflix and love the show! I’d never heard of it before last week. Yes, yes, please air season 2!
Just finished watching crossing lines. Quite a cliffhanger. I hope it returns soon. I liked the international aspect of the program.
Crossing Lines is a great show, with a great cast, and well written. I hope NBC would pick it up, but I would watch on a cable channel. The show has had no advertisement and deserves to have a chance.
Crossing Lines was a great show. The show barely had any advertisements during the first season so what did NBC expect for ratings if they didn’t go all out like every other show that starts. The show was well written and should come back to NBC.
Watched Crossing Lines on Netflix for the first time.. Would love to see it continue somewhere, sometime and back on Netflix… Watched the whole ten episodes in a week! And of course Donald Sutherland, along with the rest of the cast were great!
Great show that deserves another chance, maybe a different night of the week and more advertising so people know about it. I will definitely be disappointed if it isnt renewed.
This a well written series that definitely should see more seasons. Unpredictable and unlike any other series currently showing, the well rounded cast deserves more screen time
NBC NEEDS to keep the show!!! All of my friends love the show and would be so disapointed if it didnt air or changed channels! We NEED to know what happens to Louis and Rebecca, we NEED to know if Anne-Marie survived, and we NEED to know if Hickman will ever catch/kill Genovese!!!!! We also NEED to know if Sebastian will get his files back or if him and Kathrin will be together!!! We also REALLY NEED TO KNOW if Shari survives!!! Please acknowledge my comment!!!
Ditto, ditto, ditto………. We need the show back, one way or another !!!!!!
