France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
Excellent Production….lower ratings due to time slot…..
I just checked out all 3 disks for season 1 from our local library. What a great show! And none of us recalled it ever being promoted or had even heard about it. The only way I knew to check it out is that I subscribe to the library’s notifications of new books and dvds.
Watched the whole first season, BRILLIANT. Please bring it back. That cliffhanger really leaves you wanting whole lot more.
This is one of the bst TV series I’ve ever watched please air and bring back season 2.
please renew
My wife and I really liked Crossing Lines and were looking forward to the second season. We’ll watch it on USA or whatever network might air it!
I would hope this series continues, cable or anywhere. The US is infatuated with their ridiculous reality shows and it just seems that time after time very good shows are cancelled.
Just reviewed US networks Summer & Fall lineups… no mention of Crossing Lines by NBC, nor is it even listed as one of their shows anymore… Big mistake, NBC. Are you satisfied with with just “one” primetime hit? Don’t you wonder how Crossing Lines would have done in the ratings if it had been promoted?
Ratings definitely suffered from poor promotion, but also from bad scheduling. Sunday nights are tremendously crowded! Maybe pairing it with The Blacklist would help? That might be a good match. If NBC decides not to pick it up, I hope SOMEONE does. I will watch it on any channel!
Love the show. Watched it on Netfix. Would watch it on network tv if aired . I definately have to see the 2nd series
I missed it last summer, but have been watching on Netflix and love it!!!!
Loved Crossing Lines, please renew
I was completely enthralled!!! Please have a season 2
I really enjoyed Crossing Lines. Definitly bring it back. I would watch it on any channel.
I thought It was a good show I just had a ten episode marathon and enjoyed every episode. I say bring it back for season 2
I’m hoping NBC will give this show another chance/season. I have enjoyed Crossing Lines different venue. I felt the setting (across different countries) kept it fresh and unpredictable. I watch many mystery shows and while this is not a standard mystery it kept me engaged to the end. I agree with whomever said maybe they should schedule it earlier or on another day.
Yes, NBC should renew it and yes I would watch it on a cable channel like USA.
Bring it on please. I did not watch the show last year, but found it this year on Netflix. I will be a fan on NBC if they show it.
