France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
I loved the show. I hope that it will be renewed. I did not watch it on NBC, I watched it on Netflix, and could not get enough. It is a great show, and I will tell my friends and family to watch it.
This is a great show. Too bad NBC put it up against the NFL. To be successful NBC will either have to move it to another day or move it to cable.
Great show, terrific story lines. Just finished the first season. Netflix should have season 2 streaming–we need to find out what happened to some of the characters.
I just watched the first season on Netflix and was blown away! I must have been watching something else on Sunday (PBS?) But would absolutely replace anything with this show!!! I don’t have cable, so I want this to be on NBC. PLEASE renew it NBC!
We have just watched the first two episodes of Crossing lines on Netflix streaming. It is an excellent show and my wife and I are looking forward to the rest of the first season. I wish there were more than just ten episodes and we would watch this on any channel it is renewed for. If NBC doesn’t renew this show they are missing out on a great opportunity.
I think it’s great! NBC – please renew it and air it!
Yes, its an intelligent sophisticated show, and deserves an opportunity to develop a following. Offering Season 1 on Netflix will help stir some interest.
Do you remember Hill Street Blues, an NBC super-hit in the 1980s? It had a very questionable 1st season but NBC believed in it, promoted it, and the rest is very happy history.
My wife and I both think this is an excellent show that deserves not only an airing of Season Two but a rebroadcast of the 1st Season with some promotion. Give this show a chance and I think it will reward you with long-term success.

Yes! Definitely another season!!
Yes, I would love to see season 2. When will it be on Netflix streaming?
Yes, renew Crossing Lines! I love the show. The characters are great. I will watch on either as it is set to record where ever it appears.
Was already addicted to another show Sun. nights but I’ve watched season 1 on Netflix and thoroughly enjoyed it. I don’t have cable so I hope it is brought back. If not, I may look for it on Amazon and pay for it.
I just found this on netflix. And it is a great show, yes renew it
Renew it nbc. But if you d9n’t I’ll find it somewhere. Maybe Tunnel Bear will let me watch it from Europe somewhere.
We agree with Mary Bill , Crossing Lines is a great show, and we think NBC should renew it. We would watch it where ever it is as long as we can find it. You can loose the reality shows as far as we are concerned. YUK>
