France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
Please Please renew Crossing Lines- Love this show! Love the international theme- so very interesting! We’re so tired of good shows being replaced with so-called reality tv! BLEH!!
NBC owns USA Network, strongly suggest moving Crossing Lines to the cable station. Crossing Lines is a great show that should be continued to be shown on TV. What a duel for USA ‘Covert Affairs’ and ‘Crossing Lines, maybe?
My husband and I really loved this show. We had never heard of it until I found it on Netflix. I hope you run the second season.
Please renew. Just found on Netflix. Love it
I think they should bring back Crossing Lines it has been 1 of the most thrilling and enjoyable TV shows I have seen in a long time hope to be able to see second season.
I love this show. I am so tired of great series being cancelled. I would watch this on any channel — network or cable. Please air this in the US!!!!
I watched every single episode and loved the series. The European twist to a typical crime drama is an awesome idea. For me it works well. Please don’t cancel this show.
I just found Crossing Lines on Netflix and I really like the show. I hope to see season two and further seasons as well. But you need to show more trailers and info so we know it is back and on which channel. It is a great show with a lot of action and great characters and I was left up in the air with suspense. What happens next?
Love the show. Would watch on NBS or USA.
Waiting for Season 2 to begin. Say it is soon 😉
We have watched season one and would be so disappointed if the second series fail to show. We would have watched on NBC had we known about it.We never saw it advertised and didn’t know anything about it. Please notify me of any future airing.
totally love the series. my husband and I watched it , every episode. Hope it is renewed or even, if need be, moved to a different cable channel.
Yes renew Crossing Lines!!! I love this show and was looking for the summer schedule when I saw that it’s undecided whether it will be renewed. There is a following for this great show and great actors!
Crossing Lines was such a different spin on the typical spy show. I loved the fact that it was European and that each character had different skills and were from different countries. Great story lines.
I’d love to know where Season 2 will be aired in the US.
I’ve loved this show since the very first episode!! I always recorded it and I would watch each episode several times before deleting them. I’ve been impatiently waiting for it to come back for a second season. I hope NBC airs it. If not I’ll watch it on cable.
