France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
I watched and loved it. Please keep it.
I like this show. It is fun and exciting. Plots are great. Actors outstanding. I hope this show is picked up for a second season. Who cares about younger demographics. I am in my fifties and like this sow. Why do networks always cancel the good shows. I don’t even like raising hope or the big bang theory they can cancel them.
Yes, NBC should air it. Although as dcwhitebluff said, “… Which likely explains why it seems more people are going to Netflix and Amazon to watch what THEY like. I watch most shows on Netflix — especially the BBC ones. The only reason I have cable is the disney channel for my grandson and HGTV! I’ve given up on the networks and just wait for the shows to come on iTunes or Netflix.
NBC, please bring back Crossing Lines for season 2. It is a great show.
I love this show and I never watch tv, I found this on netflix. TV is garbage – it would be refreshing to have this available in America.
Crossing Lines is a great show and I am looking forward to it coming back!
I had no clue this was even on NBC. I watched the first season on Netflix and loved it. Hopefully Netflix will pick up season 2…I hate cable TV and NBC.
Found Crossing Lines on Netflix and ended up watching all 10 episodes in one sitting. I will watch whether you put it on a local channel or cable. Cannot wait for the new season.
I enjoyed season 1. Hope to be able to view season 2.
Great show! I love the interplay between agents from various EU countries and the plots ranging across the EU. Bring it back!!
Yes, bring it back – great show!
My wife and I discovered “Crossing Lines” on netflix and it quickly became our favorite show. It is intelligently written, suspenseful, with well developed characters that we care about. We will be hugely disappointed to learn that the show has been canceled. It is a step above nearly everything else NBC has on at the moment.
Love this show, one of best on TV do not cancel, Give to cable network but do not cancel, network place show on wrong night, great cast, wonderful story.
I loved this show because it was so different then anything else that is currently on!!! So if NBC does not renew it I would most definately watch it on USA…cause they rock with their show and I know it would find a great home and following there!!! So please let us have it
Yes, the second season should be aired. Every time we find a show we enjoy, the networks decide not to renew it. Which likely explains why it seems more people are going to Netflix and Amazon to watch what THEY like. Advertisers – pick up the clue phone and exert some of your fiscal influence on the so-called programming experts, please.
I think one of the problems with this show is that it received so little publicity. I don’t think I ever saw an ad for it. I didn’t know it was on until I saw it after the fact on Netflix. Makes you wonder why some shows get so much promotion and others like this one receive so little.
But certainly there is not a better show on NBC. They need to promote it.
