A decade or so ago, CSI was one of the highest-rated TV shows on network television. It spawned two spin-offs — CSI: NY and CSI: Miami — and each had long runs before being cancelled. Will CSI: Cyber also find ratings success? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
On CSI: Cyber, Special Agent Avery Ryan (Patricia Arquette) heads the Cyber Crime Division of the FBI. It’s a unit at the forefront of solving illegal activities that start in the mind, live online, and play out in the real world. This crime drama also features the talents of James Van Der Beek, Hayley Kiyoko, Charley Koontz, Shad Moss, and Peter MacNicol.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/11 update: CBS has renewed CSI: Cyber for a second season.
Final season averages: 1.39 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.11 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the CSI: Cyber TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Why is this show not better than it is? It could be the puerile writing and dreadful acting. I watched every episode of Medium (despite her “special gift” and visiting dead relatives).
This is not a good show.
Liked the show. Very entertaining,. Hope it stays.
Stalker was cancelled for THIS? Watching paint dry is more entertaining.
The networks must have gotten together and said, “Let’s put out some really horrible shows and see if these dimwits will watch them.” CSI: Cyber is terrible. I have watched faithfully every one of the CSI shows since the beginning. I can’t sit through one episode of Cyber. The first one was bad but I stuck with it. The second episode was so bad I couldn’t get through it. It seems like if a network shows previews of a new show, and show it continuously, this show will fail. They get the show all hyped and it bombs. Please give… Read more »
Poor Show At Best
Can’t believe that this sound is still on or that the ratings are as good as these numbers show. Must be that people are either using it to put their child to sleep by, or themselves. Forget the tv is on or the poor souls are curious and have the tv on long enough to get tagged as watched and then change the channel. I can’t say it the worst I’ve seen, but it is the worst currently.
CBS has had its share of procedural dramas in the past and they better not do it again in the near future.
I will NEVER watch the show because of the pea-brain, liberal, mouthy Patricia Arquette. She ruined the Oscars and doesn’t know — like most high-school drop-out celebrities — what she is talking about before she opens her big mouth.
I am a fan of the original CSI. I still think it is entertaining. Everything about “Cyber” is terrible. The acting was amateur and some of the guesswork was impossible. It was a lot like CSI Miami overblown and fake. I won’t watch another ” CSI Cyber”
I am tired of CSI:LA . Cyber looks new and refreshing. Patricia Arquette is a great actress. I enjoyed her on Medium. I hope the show survives but if it’s good it usually gets cancelled.
not surprised, the in series pilot was HORRIBLE
Kill it and bring back Stalker!
I agree with KEYSPIKE! The cast was cookie cutter ridiculous… one of these, one of those just like all the other shows are tending to be these days. And no acting experience apparently was a requirement… they were all terrible… and that rapper/rhyming it out? Ugh! This is NOT a keeper. Yes, what DID happen to STALKER?
I agree with “Why Watch” and “A.” I was disappointed with the Premier Show. It was plodding and poorly written. Patricia Arquette is much better than this script. Since I tend to take some time before accepting a new show, I will try another episode. I really hope it improves quickly.
I watched the second episode.. NO CHANGE! I wish “Stalker” could be resurrected.
I wanted to try to like this but fifteen minutes in, I pulled the plug on it. I didn’t care for the camera work, but what I liked even less was the acting. Too montone, too choppy, too unnatural for a real person. I found Patricia Arquette the same in Medium. And James Van Der Beek reminded me of a robot in mannerisms and vocals as well.
Wanted to love because of great cast but right away, and 10 minutes in, camera work nauseated me — jumping, focusing in and out, too much CGI, is that the right word, too many special FX? So stopped snd deleted.
I really enjoyed the show plus I think Patricia is a good actress. Watch Medium faithfully
