This will be the first full season of Dallas without Larry Hagman’s JR Ewing. Can the cast and producers continue to draw viewers and solid ratings without their quintessential bad guy? Will the new Dallas be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned to find out.
Airing on Monday nights, Dallas continues to follow the machinations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.92 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Reference point: The second season of the new Dallas averaged a 0.8 demo rating and 2.67 million viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you still like the Dallas series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Update: TNT has cancelled Dallas after three seasons. Details here.
What a mistake to cancel this show. It was so good. I watched the original and really enjoyed this newer version. I am so tired of a certain age group deciding what I watch. I’m 60. Don’t I count for anything?
Cancelled??? you are definitely wrong!! this show should & will be in the top 10
John Ross makes his Father JR look almost nice–
Marketing–Advertising–make it happen–bring it back
great show
why not let it continue as a full show (new episodes) on NetFlix like House of Cards is doing?
Surprised to learn Dallas was cancelled after three seasons. While the original Dallas was a fan favorite and last season’s lose of Larry Hagman’s character J. R. Did hurt the show, unfortunately I think TNT was to quick in their cancellation. The new show seemed to have potential and certainly better than many other TNT productions.
Dallas was one of the best shows on tv my wife and i could not wait to see it. If not live it was recorded TNT what the hell is wrong with you John Ross picks up where JR left off. Sell it to another network.
Loved the original Dallas AND the storylines and cast of Dallas that was cancelled! Anymore, I am hesitatant to even start a new series for fear of cancellation. When a show such as Dallas with such a well-known history can’t survive in today’s TV climate, it is indeed sad.
I will never understand why the networks MUST have the tip-top ratings to continue a show. Not every show can be at the top of the charts, but this still leaves a large chunk of viewers available to purchase the products promoted by the shows that fit into this category.
It was the end of third season when we realized it was on. Not enough advertising to know it was on! Best show that was on TV. Very disappointing
Please keep Dallas on
Dallas was well written capturing the chemistry of the original TV Series. Should have stayed with it. It would have found a larger audience It was a
mistake to cancel
My husband, mother & I enjoyed watching Dallas, it was the best show ever on TV. TNT is stupid for cancelling this. TNT bring back Dallas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please don’t cancell this show!
HOW STUPID IS T.N.T. THEY GAUGED THERE RATING BY ASKING PEOPLE FROM 18-49, nobody under 50 watched the original Dallas , why did they not ask the viewers from 49 to 89. I am 54 and was a teenager in high school when Dallas came out, I didn’t watch it a lot but enough to know all the major cast and know who shot J.R ( the first time ) LOL BUT WHEN DALLAS 2012 came out I was happy to see the OLD CAST AGAIN. But the New show was TWICE AS GOOD AS THE ORIGNAL SHOW, DON’T BE… Read more »
I in my late 30’s and I remember watching Dallas with my Grandma. I didn’t understand it much back then but now I love the show as much as my mom and grandma use too. I hope they bring it back.
I am with you on this one.
Should not end the show like that need to found out how the family found out what happen to jr,. It was getting good if so have another network take the show over.
My husband and me , we’re faithful followers of the original one. We loved this second one. And where do they get the ratings. Do they even ask the people in the small towns
I sure hope they can bring it back!!
I would be very upset if Dallas is removed from the air. Just because JR isn’t going to be with us doesn’t mean you should cancel the show. Don’t be so petty about a few scores less due to the fact the public is upset on season due to the death of Larry Haggman, besides, John Ross with take his place. I’m excited to see the roll Bobby is going to play and become. Can’t Wait !!!
It was so nice to have this show come back,so it had a little more smut in it, I think that’s why a lot of people got upset, you can’t just drop that show,it was getting really good, now nothing.
TNT is crazy for canceling Dallas. It was a great show I hope some other smart network will put it on.
