This will be the first full season of Dallas without Larry Hagman’s JR Ewing. Can the cast and producers continue to draw viewers and solid ratings without their quintessential bad guy? Will the new Dallas be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned to find out.
Airing on Monday nights, Dallas continues to follow the machinations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.92 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Reference point: The second season of the new Dallas averaged a 0.8 demo rating and 2.67 million viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you still like the Dallas series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Update: TNT has cancelled Dallas after three seasons. Details here.
Dallas is missed by so many. TV in general is missed too. In all this, I hope somehow, some way TV could come back and be the TV that was. It isn’t much to talk about now.
TV on demand is the coming thing. It has to be because what they are dishing out is waste. Maybe then it would be worthwhile to bring back Dallas. We sure do miss Dallas.
There’s not much on TV. It’s not Summer either. No excuses that all there is is reruns. This is TV now. Dallas would be nice to watch. I wish it were back.
TV is so bad now. Can’t even get into anything before it gets cancelled. Well, maybe people would keep watching if they put less commercials on and they kept the show on for more that just a few episodes. That sure sounds like what did Dallas in. Terrible treatment for such a great show. I hope someone comes to their senses and returns Dallas to TV and let’s it run for a long time.
Just like the media doesn’t know the electorate, TV doesn’t know the TV audience. Sad… They probably still don’t really know how many people loved Dallas. It brought joy. I wish Dallas would come back. I’d gladly trade the NFL for it.
A shock to the TV industry would be in order now. They keep going downhill. They need new blood. But being careful not to put on shows like duh Brain Drain Theory (I know sic huh?). Put people in there that know a good show. People who like Dallas. We really need and want Dallas back.
Well, that’s one good thing to happen for America. Now…let’s bring back Dallas!
Even the elections can’t save TV from it’s eventual decline. Networks are just too greedy, I guess. The internet brought us information for a touch of a button. It’s possible that without ads though, there wouldn’t be any shows anywhere but theaters. They’ll probably find a way to get into the internet video on demand too. I wish Dallas would come back.
TV is in such a bad state. It doesn’t matter how many channels you get, what package you get or anything. There’s nothing good on. Might as well surf the net instead. Bring back Dallas please.
TV is just not the same without Dallas to look forward to watch. Pretty soon it’s gonna be Wheel of Theory Feud Broke Reruns forever. Oh, forgot about the news…the media is so corrupt…can’t believe a thing they say. That about rounds up TV now. Please bring back Dallas.
One of the things I liked about Dallas was that the stories weren’t predictable. Dallas always had good story lines and great characters to follow and care about. Loved the new characters as well as the originals. Jeez, tv would be so much better if Dallas was back.
I’d be so happy to have Dallas come back and continue where they left off. OK, Cliff could be transferred to an American jail. Keep things closer to Texas. It is called Dallas y’know. Gosh, tv is so lacking without this great show to watch. Bring back Dallas!!!
I’d say Dallas was the best tv show of all time. Most of the actors are still active. It’s a crime that they aren’t on the Southfork Ranch right now filming episodes. Cliff was left in a Mexican jail…almost feel sorry for him. Bring back Dallas!!!
They cancel Dallas and keep the junk shows. That’s been the trend. But now there is nothing but junk shows left. How will they replace ‘these’ shows? They’re stagnating away. It’s like they are sucking the life out of TV. And networks wonder why people aren’t tuning in anymore. Duh…
Any way you look at it, Dallas was the best show to be on TV for all time. There’ll probably never be another show this good. Especially given the state of TV now. It’s so sad that we don’t get to watch this show anymore.
