This will be the first full season of Dallas without Larry Hagman’s JR Ewing. Can the cast and producers continue to draw viewers and solid ratings without their quintessential bad guy? Will the new Dallas be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned to find out.
Airing on Monday nights, Dallas continues to follow the machinations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.92 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Reference point: The second season of the new Dallas averaged a 0.8 demo rating and 2.67 million viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you still like the Dallas series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Update: TNT has cancelled Dallas after three seasons. Details here.
Networks just don’t get it. Just like the media and their stupids that support them. They just don’t want Dallas viewers to be happy. Frankly, it’s quite un american in my view. I guess it was too real for them. Sad day indeed when these people control the airwaves, sound and print.
It would be nice if we could continue on with Dallas plots and stories. I could think of a thousand ways Dallas could deal with what we have going on in America. After all, the Ewings were quite influential to the planet. Not much went on without their inputs. This was so incredibly nice to watch each week. It’s really a crime that it’s not happening any more. I wish I could watch Dallas again.
JR jr gets indicted for election rigging but Bobby saves the day by revealing that it was really Cliff’s daughter. The Russian link to oil was the connection that brings down Cliff’s empire. Meanwhile Bobby’s son, Chris, keeps thinking about coming back as the bomb malfunctioned. It’s rumored he’s hiding in Mexico imprisoned by the cartel. Bobby must go there to rescue him. For you Dallas fans…to be continued.
I’ve got a great idea for a new Dallas episode (I know, I know…). JR’s son gets involved with fake news about Cliff hacking the DNC and Bobby rescues him saving him from the evil snowflakes at CNN. They all move to an offshore oil platform to be safe. Where can you find a better show for plots so interesting…I just don’t know.
These are crazy days. I miss the days of Dallas. The issues that were the thread of their plots is preferable to todays news…fake or otherwise.
Fake news, fake tv, whining leftests. TV has no way of making viewers watch garbage shows other than removing the good shows. So the choice of tv or no tv appears to be the case. Without Dallas, there’s not many shows worth watching. Something’s gotta give. This can’t persist. TV can’t last like this.
Consider the biased media and their fake news, the Hollywood stars who strongly favor socialism, and the violent left. One wonders how we lost our way. The ethics in Dallas were at least far better than the morals of today. Is this why we no longer have Dallas? I guess it represented too much of the good America.
Some day they’ll look back and realize that Dallas was the best of tv. But TNT was the network who coughed it up. It was so wonderful to see it again. And it was so sad to see it go. To ruin a great show like that takes a special kind of stupid.
More loss of TV revenue. TV’s answer? More crud channels with more ads. This is a gasp for air…probably it’s last. When networks jettison shows like Dallas for the crud that’s on now…well you know.
You can’t find a show on tv with stories and characters as good as they had with Dallas. Class act all the way. I wish the networks would quit trying to please the sniveling basement dwellers. Bad tv equals bad tv any way you look at it. And that’s why viewership is far down and dropping.
When you read fake news, it really throws you for a loop. How does one deal with the loss of your favorite show? I don’t think the networks got it right. It doesn’t make sense. It’s like fake news. Dallas should still be on and that’s for sure. Bring back Dallas, please!
If people watch BBT more than SNF then people with any brains aren’t watching tv at all. The youngies and the Baby Boomers have either gone on to On Demand or simply quit watching anything. They get their news from the internet. The days of decent tv shows and honest news are completely gone…maybe the news has always been tainted. But shows like Dallas will live on as being the best of tv. This is why tv has lost it.
Ratings have proved that tv is going down for the count. Do people really want to watch the Big Bang Theory more than Sunday Night Football or a great show like Dallas? This almost sounds like fake news. It must be. It comes from the people who cancelled Dallas. What’s going on? You can’t believe a thing you see or hear these days. This is really scary folks.
I guess society has gone mad. Big Bang Theory watched more than Sunday Night Football? This is so unbelievable. Maybe their tv’s are tuned to that and they’re doing their laundry or something. No one can possibly watch that show and be sane. These people are definitely different than Dallas fans. That I can tell you.
Big Bang Theory beats Sunday Night Football? OMG! Can anyone fathom the degradation of the viewers left who watch tv? This is so unbelievable and shocking. BBT , IMO. causes brain damage if watched for more than a few moments. This, folks, is what advertisers base their ratings on and charge for their ads. If BBT is watched this much, what chance would a show like Dallas have? Question…Has society gone mad or what?
