After two seasons on the air, TNT has cancelled Dark Blue. No season three for Carter Shaw and his LAPD team.
Dark Blue stars Dylan McDermott as the leader of an undercover unit whose members are so covert that some of the members of the department don’t even know they’re involved. The rest of the cast includes Omari Hardwick, Logan Marshall-Green, Nicki Aycox, and Tricia Helfer.
The cancellation of the cop drama doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Despite a decline in ratings, the series was renewed for a second season last December. The second round of 10 episodes began airing in August and the numbers were worse than they’d been in year one.
Season two averaged a 0.6 rating in the key 18-49 demographic and 2.25 million total viewers. Those figures make the series the worst performer of TNT’s summer season and ripe for cancellation.
Dark Blue ended its run with two episodes on September 15th.

I too have been waiting for this show to return for summer. This is so disappointing. I also agree that it was NEVER advertised well! I am very upset about the cancellation!
I am very disappointed! Have been waiting for season three to start, searched for it and found out it was discontinued. The entire cast was awesome, dillan McDermott was great in his role, very good and clever writers. Please bring it back!
BRING IT BACK! DARK BLUE WAS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS THAT TNT OFFERS. NOW WHAT ARE WE GONNA WATCH. TNT OBVIOUSLY DOESN’T KNOW DRAMA. YOU SHOULD’VE TAKEN OFF ALL THAT OTHER CRAP YOU HAVE ON AND LEFT DARK BLUE ALONE. WHO CAN WE PETITION TO GET MY FQVORITE SHOW BACK ON THE AIR? MAYBE ANOTHER NETWORK WILL PICK THEM UP.

wOW WHAT a bunch of BS, Franklin and Bash, Hawthorne, Men of a Certain age(not that bad)but come on. Dark Blue was awesome. Not because it was a breath of fresh air cuz its not like its original. Cuz its not but it was the ****!!
I am VERY disappointed! We loved this show….it was one of the few shows that my husband & I both enjoyed!! Great drama – great actors – very original! Hey, isn’t that what TNT is all about? Too bad! I hate what tv is becoming………..they better not replace Dark Blue with some ‘reality show’ garbage! So sad!
did not realize it was cancelled. thought was on hiatus till summer like several other tnt show have done before. I agree this is CRAP

I loved this show. I didnt watch it until I saw an episode in the second season and then I watched them all…. chronologically of course. And it was a great show. I agree that they air the stupidest crap on tv nowadays…I mean how many CSI shows can you do? Geez. I guess Ill just have to watch the Glades now. Thanks a lot.
I was looking forward to another season of Dark Blue. It was one of THE best cop shows I had seen since Hunter. I missed season 1 as I had not heard about this show until last summer, and almost missed it. Only got wind due to an add I saw during a comercial break of HawthoRNe. Dark Blue was a great summer series. Probably would get better ratings if advertisement was better. Seems to me they wanted it to do poorly, otherwise advertisement would have been more broadly cast, similar to that of HawthoRNe on other channels.
Are you kidding ??? This show was fantastic !!Crap like Hawthorne is kept on TV & any of the sucky shows on ABC,NBC & CBS !!! Wow wrong move on your part !!
I loved every minute of the drama. I believe the time slot was bad. I was looking for it and could not find the show for a while and if memory serves me it came on , on a night when many of the best shows came on the same night. No Way should it have been cancelled.
Are you kidding? We have been waiting for months for season 3 only to0 find out that TNT cancelled Dark Blue????!!! Come on– with all the crap on tv these days- we need something enjoyable and Dark Blue was a breath of fresh air!!! You guys should rethink your programming and actually LISTEN to your viewers!
This is CRAP at its finest hour you big wigs and neilsen rating people need to shove it where the sun don’t shine DARK BLUE had to be one of the best original drama you have ever came up with and you cancel it (TNT we know drama) yeah ok you know nothing bring back DARK BLUE so we can watch real tv during the summer and fall tv veiwing period thank you
