Is the Deadwood movie still happening? Recently, HBO boss Casey Bloys gave an update on the feature-length series follow-up, Deadline reports.
For years now, news of a Deadwood revival has circulated but progress has been slow. Last year, HBO programming president Michael Lombardo said creator David Milch was working on a script for a TV movie follow-up and McShane expressed interest in filming soon. The original series ran for three seasons before ending in 2006. The cast also included Timothy Olyphant, Molly Parker, Jim Beaver, and John Hawkes.
At the recent TCA summer press conference, Bloys announced that David Milch has delivered the Deadwood script. All HBO needs to do now is decide on a budget and get the cast back together:
He totally delivered on this. If we can do for the right budget it make sense. We’re taking to directors and we’re getting the cast together, which is not an easy task. Then we’re inclined to do it if we can get over those hurdles. … The script is terrific.”

One of the Greatest Shows Ever !!! I always looked forward to watching this OUTSTANDING SHOW on Sunday Nights !!! I truly hope this Movie does come to fruition in the near future !!!

Yes I’m sure there are a lot more people then myself that will would watch deadwood movie we all like the series couldn’t wait to go to work the next day to talk about it so I’m sure I’d be a great hit no matter what the cost

I hope this comes together. I loved that show and all the actors are so talented. Most are on their own shows now but hope they will reunite to do this movie to tie up the loose ends.

I am a big Timothy Olyphant fan! Loved him in Deadwood! Hoping they can get the cast united again! It was a great show!
