As fans may already know, CBS has pulled the Doubt TV show from their schedule after only two episodes, making the show effectively cancelled. What do you think? Did the network end the series too soon?
The legal drama stars Katherine Heigl as Sadie Ellis, an ambitious attorney who falls for one of her clients, a pediatric surgeon accused of murdering his girlfriend. The cast also includes Steven Pasquale, Dulé Hill, Laverne Cox, Elliot Gould, and Dreama Walker.
Doubt premiered on February 15th to a lackluster 0.76 rating in the 18-49 demo and 5.31 million viewers — very low numbers for a CBS show. The series’ second episode dropped even further in the ratings, bringing in a 0.55 rating in the 18-49 demo and 4.03 million viewers.
CBS initially ordered 13 episodes of Doubt, which were all reportedly filmed. It remains uncertain when the remaining episodes will air, if they ever will.
What do you think? Have you seen Doubt? Was this CBS TV series cancelled too prematurely? Should the network have given it more time or, were they justified in pulling it after two very low-rated episodes?
the problem is not that this show was cancelled to quickly, it’s that other garbage hours are stillon.
Heigl is just too much for most viewers to handle. Many can’t stand her for her off-camera diva antics. Those that tolerate her find her banal and condescending on-camera, and those dwindling few that still like her know she is just a one-trick pony in the acting skills department. I hope she has a long-term contract on her national ‘kitty litter’ marketing job… she seems to have settled from the creme-de’la-creme level she wanted to her appropriate station in life.
To each their own. I love everything Katherine Heigl is in. This would have grown into a must see show.
Way to quick but I always feel this way about all shows and networks that cancel shows only few episodes in. Especially in todays instant gratification that considers only 8-10 episodes of a show to be a season. Money, Money, Money.

Don’t like Hegel and wasn’t surprised to see no more shows had been taped on our set; figured it must have been canceled. Still, might as well show the the already taped ones.
Definitely canceled too quickly! They did not allow time for the audience to grow through word-of-mouth recommendations from viewers to their friends.
It was not one of my favorites, but I certainly would have kept watching it.
Doubt was cancelled t quickly, was a good show, CBS did not
give it enough time. it would have been a hit 2 episodes was not
enough, Hope CBS gets these coomment
Too quickly! They didn’t give people time to hear word-of-mouth recommendations from viewers who were giving it a try.
Not my favorite show, but I would have continued watching it.
I love this show. They did the same thing to Stalker which was a really good show.
I definitely think they pulled the plug too soon. I must be the only one in the country who watched both episodes and I was looking forward to #3. I thought the show had potential.
None of this made sense. They were shot already. It’s not like Criminal Minds; Beyond Borders is doing better. CBS made no effort to promote this show at all. Love Steve Pasquale. Liked him on my tv
If all 13 episodes have already been filmed before CBS cancelled Doubt after 2 episodes, do we have to wait until it comes out on DVD and Blu-ray?
Way too quickly. I thought it was fun and face paced. Totally held my interest. Such a shame. Had a great cast of characters!!!!
I really like watching Katherine Heigl and i enjoyed the first two episodes. Doesn’t CBS know we DVR and watch on our own time schedule? Ratings aren’t really reliable until after the first season.
I totally agree! I record all of my shows. Most of the people I know record all of their shows. I agree with Robin. They should have waited until the first season ended. They had a great cast. I hope they bring it back. They did not give it a chance. Bring it back!!!
Definitely think the show was cancelled took quickly. I liked it and wanted to give it a chance. The shows were already finished so why not Show more episodes. And ÿIt seems that some people need to give her a chance. She has matured and grown since Greys. Why hold that against her for the rest of her life? It’s really sad and unfair
I think these station forget how we watch TV today we DVR or watch on Hulu….Nelson rating are old school.Get hip with what’s really going on…Really liked this show…
Yet you find yourself commenting on a tv ratings site. ”Old school” huh?
