It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

I am really disappointed about this. I really enjoyed the show right from the start. I thought it started off much better than most sitcoms do and I was looking forward to seeing what directions they went in. Oh, well. It seems like every time I begin liking a show they yank it..anyone remember Moonlight?

I LOVE EASTWICK…NOOOO They can’t cancel it. It is my favorite show. I think it might be on a little too late for some people. I can’t stay up to watch because I have to get up very early, so I record it. They should try it at an earlier slot on another day maybe. Unbelievable…was a disappointment.

They aired another episode of Eastwick last week–makes me even madder they are cancelling. I hate these networks, what losers!!!
I’m still upset over the cliffhanger left on “The Invasion” ABC (followed Lost)–and, my all time bummer was “Joan of Arcadia”!!
I love the show. It’s interesting to see, though, which shows stick.. and which don’t. Didn’t Mad Men (a show that wins award after award–and in my opinion is amazing) also have incredibly low ratings?
I think this is crap.
Don’t cancel eastwick. You can’t just judge ratings right away it takes time 4 the shows to get ou. And for a girl like me I don’t have time to watch it at the shows time slot. So if the ratings are done then y’all out fullish ppl. I hate that u leave us hanging from the last esposodes keep them rolling and at these finish wat u started seriously. These was starting to get really good too. They started to finally gain a storyline. Sure they should probably slow it down a little bit. But seriously it is one of the few good shows out there. It was becoming my new charmed(though of course different).
I just want to say I 100% agree with everyone on this post. ABC is infamous for launching a new show and giving it 2.2 seconds to succeed before they rip the rug out under us. I absolutely LOVED pushing daisies, lipstick jungle, and now eastwick. Why do they even bother creating these shows if they aren’t going to give them a chance to grow!? This is ridiculous, I agree with what everyone else has said so far!! Every time we get a show that is a little unique the “ratings” say it stinks, well ya know what, I have found that most series when they first come on I don’t like and it takes at least 2 seasons or more for me to even start watching them after the first episode or so, such as Charmed, I didn’t like it when it first came on, now I have every season of it and it is my favorite show of all time, I even watch… Read more »
I love this show. I can’t believe that it’s been cancelled. It’s funny, sexy and so entertaining and most importantly it’s refreshing to watch a show that doesn’t revolve around a crime and murder. I think it’s on a little late and would do better in an earlier slot. All the people I work with love it, but the ones that can’t record it often don’t watch it. I really wish the network would change their mind, but I guess I can’t hope for that.
Once again, ABC cancels another of my favorite shows. I really liked Eastwick and Im super ticked they have decided to cancel it!!
