Michelle and Robert King created The Good Wife TV show which ran for seven seasons on CBS. Now, they’ve created Evil, a very different kind of drama series. How will it do in the ratings? Will it have a long or short run? Will Evil be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A supernatural thriller series, Evil stars Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, Aasif Mandvi, Michael Emerson, Christine Lahti, Kurt Fuller, Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco, and Dalya Knapp. A forensic psychologist, Kristen Bouchard accepts a job offer from David Acosta (Colter), a former adventure-seeking journalist. He’s now studying to be a Catholic priest and has been tasked by the Church to assess unexplained phenomena. Acosta also recruits Ben Shakir (Mandvi), an even-tempered realist with carpentry skills. He uses those abilities to uncover practical rationales behind “hauntings.” Kristen is certain that science can provide answers to every incident that the trio encounters — until she meets Leland Townsend (Emerson). He’s a sinister man who oozes menace and threatens Kristen and her four young daughters (Shuck, Gray, Crocco, and Knapp). Undeterred, Kristen, David, and Ben set out to assess inexplicable events to see if there’s a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
1/31 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Evil TV series on CBS? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
*10/22/19 update: CBS has renewed the Evil TV show for a second season.
I really really live this show if CBS doesn’t want it they can keep it on Netflix I’m rewatching it now on Netflix love it without all the commercials it’s my mew binge show. It’s just the right balance of everything I like in a show. Something to get on a couch and cozy up to and watch on cold winter nights!!! Can’t wait foe season 2!!!
I’m happy second season is going to be great. well done I love this show.
Evil very well done can’t wait for season 2
Very entertaining show! Looking forward to the next season.
I love this show! Happy for a 2nd season! there is enough going on in the show that keeps you at the edge of your seat. I’m not even on the demographic chart I guess they think us “older people” don’t watch TV? Love all the actors and I also love to hate Michael’s character.
can’t wait to see what is in store for us in Season 2! please just don’t disappoint us.
I love the show Evil. So happy that there will be a second season. Loved Michael Emerson in Person of Interest and hated when the show ended… now I love to hate Michael’s character.
I sooo want to like this show, but just can’t due to the unevenness of the characters reactions to certain situations. Kristen “on psilocybin” sees a woman giving birth to a demon and what? Assumes she was tripping and it didn’t happen? No follow up with checking woman/demon baby?
RSM Fertility
I hear ya Donald, but that wasn’t revealed until several episodes later. Again, I really want to like Evil, but the unevenness of reactions to things happening, and then just no immediate follow-up or investigation leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
SPOILER ALERT:
I do like the idea of Kristen actually being Evil though, and I’m holding out hope for season 2.
Best new show on. Has a great cast and all kinds of twists and turns. Look forward to it every Thursday. It’s a keeper!!!!!!
I like the show a lot. Was looking to see what Michael Emerson was up to after binge-watching Person of Interest. Found out about Evil and watched it On Demand. Michael seems to be having a ball playing Leland. I like all the regulars and am happy it’s been renewed!
Do ya think maybe try other nights before you toss them out!!!
I just found this show and I love it! I watched 8 episodes this weekend (1/4/20) I hope it stays on. Love the cast and it is something different.
I binged watched last night and could barely stop after 6 episodes. I am hooked. All of the characters are well-developed and compelling. Emerson is deliciously evil. My wife is too scared to watch it, so it must be good;).
I love this show! Love the characters and the theme! Please keep it coming!
I really was looking forward to this series. After watching episode 10, I have to say that I’m not very pleased with the 1st season. It has been so slow, with very little of the supernatural that I was hoping for. I understand they need to get the viewers to understand each character and their story. By episode 10, I felt surely, they’ll leave us with a great season cliffhanger. Instead, it was boring, without much real emotion and definitely, very little of the supernatural. I hope that season 2 will open with a bang and wild situations to explore.
Interesting that the chart only shows 18-49, as I am out of that demographic as well as all my friends that enjoy this show. Should definitely make a second season.
Great new series! Very interesting and edge of your seat! Can’t get to deep into evil, but our Devil is provided by the big ‘E’ so well! & I too am out of the chart also! Interest doesn’t wane with age! I guess that is why so many of my new series get cancelled!
Enjoy the show because it is something different. I feel as if good will win over evil.
