Liam James is Ben/Adam Warren. Andrew McCarthy is Hank Asher. Floriana Lima is Bridey Cruz. Young Willa and Danny are played by Madeleine Arthur and Rarmian Newton.

Claire finally realizes what Adam and Ben endured when she visits the hell hole-like tomb where they were kept, exploding with grief, anger and frustration. Meanwhile Jane looks to make a getaway as Nina closes in on Doug’s location, and Agent Clements’ time is running out. Hank comes face to face with his inner demons, and one phone call shatters Ben’s world, forcing him to tackle an uncertain destiny.

The Family was canceled due to low ratings. As of the May 8th episode, the series averaged 0.83 in the 18-49 year-old viewer demographic and drew an average total audience of 3.276 million viewers. We have been tracking 25 scripted ABC series during the 2015-16 television season. Those numbers leave The Family ranked 21st out of 25, when sorted by both the demo and total average audience.

ABC cancelled The Family on Thursday, May 12, 2016, so this first season finale was not written as an intentional TV series finale. If the audience will get sufficient closure or satisfaction from “What Took So Long,” remains to be seen.

I think this is the last show I watch ever with abc. Super disappointing. This show was by far one of the best shows I’ve watched in years. I don’t usually enjoy television due to how lame and “reality” over ridden it has become. Shame on you abc. Shame on you.
Truly excellent show. Exceptional writing, story, acting. It’s rare a show that functions on all levels and especially with the very delicate subject matter at it’s center. Rerun the show during summer and promo the heck out of it and it will build an audience and interest to warrant a second season. Just a suggestion. I would definitely be watching.
I’ve been waiting for a show like this for a long time. I watched every week, and every week it had me on the edge of my seat with all the twists and turns. I truly hope they consider bring it back.
Very disappointed it’s cancelled! It was a great show, definitely something different and if they cancelled it on abc, It should most certainly go to another channel or Netflix

I LOVE THE FAMILY!! THE CHARACTERS WERE GREAT..THE TWISTS..THE SUSPENSE!! TONIGHTS EPISODE WAS AWESOME. I GOT ONLINE TO LOOK INTI SEASON 2 AND READ ITS CANCELLED..IM SHOCKED!! I WAS A HUGE SECRETS AND LIES FAN..AND THAT ONLY LASTED 1 SEASON. BRING BACK THE FAMILY!!

I CANNOT believe this series is cancelled!! This series brought me to Quantico, ABCs promise for a Sunday night audience. PLEASE try it on another night or let another station pick it up.
I loved this show! Once again, they are taking off a promising show with a good storyline and will replace it with trashy reality. They should have tried a different night first.

Wow what a disappointment!! Why do these networks cancel every good show and keep the terrible ones?? More reality shows? Ugh! This was my new favorite show and I’m very upset that it won’t be back.
Very disappointed and disgusted. Finally a good show and it gets cancelled. Why don’t they give it a chance. Take off meaningless shows like The bachelor an bacholorette. Do they even care about the viewers?
