TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Television is now a vaster bigger wasteland with the cancellation of another quality show. I hope some other network picks this up and keeps the production company and actors. I looked forward to Tuesday evenings but a well written and acted show gets cancelled. Probably replace it with a comic book superhero show. I remember a previous Judd Hirsch show ( Taxi ) was canceled and another network picked it up. There are many more networks now so maybe one will make a wise choice and keep Forever on television. Come on executives. Make a smart choice and sign up… Read more »
I was hooked on Forever, from the beginning with multi talented actors, clever and interesting plots, and the chemistry between the actors was refreshing. No more will we be to enjoy quality show like Forever.
Ciao from a Forever admirer
This was a quality show, excellent actors & interesting story line, very Creative.
I want to see “Forever” renewed. My husband & I look forward to seeing it each week.
Sorry to see the quality shows go while the inferior show remain.
What does that say about the viewing audiences.

I keep wondering a while … if we are a nation of morons-eating popcorn and hamburgers- which looked only at series with stupid zombies, vampires and werewolves, or the endless series with teams of policemen from several towns … in soon all cities…and we are not able to follow also intelligent series, without shootings and all behavioral and verbal clichés …?! However …it seems to be at least 7 million, roughly, who appreciate serials like “Forever” (and other similar tv series !), and his note on IMDB confirms, as in the case of series like “Person of Interest”, “The Blacklist”… Read more »
Here’s what I told ABC in their feedback: “It stands out from nearly everything else: captivating plots, thoughtful & intelligent observations on living life, imaginative concept within crime-solving genre. Cast has a great chemistry together, & I can feel with them. Henry Morgan has seen humanity grow up despite episodes of inhumanity, and has a perspective with which we can view world in different way. Please cancel an unreal “reality” show (make 2 or 3 of them share a time slot) and keep Forever for one or two more seasons, please!!”
Cannot believe Forever is cancelled. Thought show was well liked. I know my family loved this show and was very disappointed with the news of its cancellation. I think the network made a mistake and I hope someone else picks the show up. I know the show was building to a romance between Jo and Henry. We were waiting for the moment when Jo finds out Henry is immortal. Liked most of the actors and the scripts were very well written. It’s ashame reality shows get renewed but good show like Forever are cancelled.
Loved loved the show Forever!!! It’s quit disappointing that ABC is already canceling this show. Everyone who I talk to loved it and watched it. We all DVR the show and watched with no commercials. I looked so forward to watching this show every Tuesday night. There so much trash on TV that I don’t watch that many shows. This is one of my most favorite. Great plots, incredible actors. U must reconsider canceling this show. Or ease some other network pick it up! I will not be watching ABC on Tuesday durning this time slot anymore. I hope the… Read more »

Anything that is halfway good they cancel! Ready to give up on network TV totally.
Seriously upset and dissapointed at this show being canceled. Not happy ABC!! My husband and I love Forever, funny, intriguing and the characters are really likable and interesting! !! Shame on you for canceling this show and renewing some reality shows that are just RIDICULOUS!!!!!
Please renew.

Love the show!!!! Don’t cancel!
I’m so dissapointed that this show has been cancelled. I loved the show the cast and storyline..at a bummer.
I am heartbroken to hear that Forever has not been renewed for a second season. I love all the actors, and agree that each is a perfect fit for the characters they play. I was so looking forward to next season with Henry and Jo working side by side solving crimes. Perhaps another network will see its potential and pick it up…..
