Yesterday, CBS cancelled Friends with Better Lives after just five episodes. That’s a pretty quick decision. The studio thinks it’s too quick.
Friends with Better Lives revolves around six young people who are at various stages of their lives — married, divorced, newly engaged, and single. Each wonders if the others have it better. The cast includes Majandra Delfino, Kevin Connolly, Brooklyn Decker, Rick Donald, Zoe Lister-Jones, and James Van Der Beek.
The sitcom premiered to positive numbers (following the series finale of How I Met Your Mother) but the ratings have fallen quite a bit in subsequent weeks.
The numbers were too low for CBS but 20th Century Fox Television, the studio that produces the show, has decided to try shopping the series elsewhere.
CBS will presumably air the rest of the original 13 episodes so it seems like this would be a very tough sell. Still, you never know. If the studio is motivated enough to make a deal, we may see a second season of Friends with Better Lives yet.
What do you think? Would you like to see a second season of Friends with Better Lives? Would you follow the series to cable or some other outlet?
This show is hilarious! My friends at work and I LOVE it! Every member of the cast brings something great to the table. Five episodes is way too quick to make a decision. It is in the DVR to record, even though I never miss it! It pushes the envelope and it makes me laugh from start to finish!
Too soon to cancel…just got to know the character’s! It’s hilarious, give it a chance!!
This is a good show. We really enjoy watching it. But CBS is notorious for giving up on a show if the ratings don’t do great. They are too afraid of falling a notch behind in overall ratings and losing their #1 spot. Two Broke isn’t strong enough to be a lead in. Want a show to do well? Put it after Big Bang. Then, it’s a shoe-in.
This is the best new comedy in years! It’s not afraid to be edgy. It’s hilarious. It reaches a wide age range. My husband and I love to watch it as do our young adult and teenage children. CBS are fools to cancel it. Why not try advertising it? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a commercial for it. I hope they decide to keep it or it gets picked up by a smarter network. We will definitely follow it.
I love this show it’s hilarious
LOVE FWBL!!!!!!!!…Laugh out loud hilarious! Fabulous cast!..Deserves to live on!!
It’s an okay show… it would be much better if they would focus on Zoe Lister-Jones’s character. The rest of the cast just kind of got in the way of her. She was the really funny one.
Save this show!!! My husband & I love it!
Friends with Better Lives is one of the best comedy’s I’ve seen in years! I hope they can save it. CBS didn’t even give it a chance.
I love this show. I think CBS is ludicrous for cancelling it without giving the characters a chance to evolve. Think what would have happened to Seinfeld if NBC did that.
Save this show! Its hilarious!
I was so sad when HIMYM was over. FWBL is awesome! Please give it a chance.
LOVE THIS SHOW , KIDS LOVE IT, WIFE LOVES IT… FEW THINGS MAKE ME LAUGH… WRITING ON THIS SHOW IS HYSTERICAL, AND THE ACTORS ARE A PERFECT DYNAMIC WITH EAHC OTHER.. I HAVE BEEN RECOMMEND IT TO ALL MY PATIENTS… I WOULD HATE TO SEE IT GO.. DR DEAN NYC
They set this show up for failure taking a two week break directly after the premiere. It gave interested viewers just enough time to forget all about the show. Luckily for me, I already had set my DVR to record the whole series, so I had a built-in reminder. I’d love to see the whole season aired, and the series picked up by another network.
This is a great, clean wholesome show! It is hilarious! CBS needs to reconsider. I left watching CBS years ago for the cable shows and they finally got me back. If they end the show they lose this fan.
LOL, I don’t know about clean and wholesome, there are plenty of private area jokes, but I agree, it’s a good show.
