Fans of Fringe didn’t exactly turn out in droves to see the last episode but the ratings were somewhat better than usual.
Per the fast nationals, last night’s series finale drew a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.21 million total viewers.
The demo matched that of the final episode of 2012 (on December 21st) but was lower than the December 14th installment which drew a 1.1 rating. If fans in the demo did watch the finale, many apparently felt no need to watch it “live.”
In terms of total viewership however, Fringe’s was the best number since February 2012.
The fourth season finale drew a 1.0 demo rating with 3.11 million total viewers.
If you’re interested, we have the week-by-week ratings for this season and for last season available for your perusal.
The fifth season’s ratings page will be updated with season averages when we see the final ratings on Monday.
What do you think? Have you seen the Fringe series finale? If so, how did you watch, live, DVR, on-demand or online?
I never watch anything live these days… too many good shows on… and I work nights… and without commercials, I can watch 4 hours of TV in 3hours… Fringe will be missed… 🙁
Shouldn’t the DVR numbers count? I don’t watch anything live because I don’t want to sit through ANY commercials. I DVR everything. I was satisfied with the final episode but I felt it did drag a bit. And what happened to Broyles?….the last we saw…he was shooting at the Observers and their military pawns. He wasn’t pictured when the others watched as Walter went into the future….
I DVRed it because I wanted to be able to watch it several times. Now I can’t bring myself to delete the last 3 hours of Fringe from my DVR!
I loved it! I cried, I laughed, I cheered and at the very end I smiled. And now I just want to keep it forever on my DVR! LOL
Fringe Season Finale?
I thought the finale was fantastic, it was great to see all the past creatures be used on the observer’s, though I would had Loved to see the Last observers boss done in a much more creative way<Com ON Fox, give us one more season, this show was and is one of my favorites up there with Star Trek
I think the folks that check this kind of stuff had better figure out a way to glean the DVR figures as well.
