With two weeks to go before the network upfronts, we have some long-awaited and sad news regarding the fate of CW’s Gilmore Girls.
The CW has released a joint statement from the network and Warner Bros. Television that says “Announcing the final season of Gilmore Girls is truly a sad moment for everyone at The CW and Warner Bros. Television. This series helped define a network and created a fantastic, storybook world featuring some of television’s most memorable, lovable characters. We thank Amy Sherman-Palladino, Dan Palladino, Dave Rosenthal, the amazing cast led by Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel as well as the producers, writers and crew for giving us this delightful gem for the past seven years. We would also like to thank the critics and Gilmore fans for their passionate support and promise to give this series the send off it deserves.”
Rumors have gone back and forth for months on whether an agreement could be reached with key cast members so that Gilmore Girls could return for another season. There was even a rumor earlier today that negotiations had stalled and it looked unlikely that they would resume. It appears that rumor was true.
Once sure that the series was not returning, CW likely wanted to announce the news immediately so that viewers would be more likely to tune in to watch the final two episodes.
Will the series finale on May 15th be a fulfilling way to close the series? Does this ensure that CW’s Veronica Mars will be renewed? Stay tuned! 
i really wish that you would make one last season because i know that a lot of people want to know what happened to Logan and did Luke and Loriliy get back together along with Logan and Rory. and ever since i started watching Gilmore Girls i have love the characters and wish that i could be Rory or have a mom like hers and have a perfect first boy friend.
i persnonally hope that alexis and lauren will make a gilmore movie like sex and the city series did…
I can’t believe they could take this wonderful show off the air! I feel as if I personally know Lauren Graham and Alexis Bedel…I loved the seventh season so much..there were so many ups and downs and i cried in the last two shows! You seriously need to bring the show back! Lorelei or Rory needs to get married! Lorelei and Luke have to be together! I am sooooo upset with the “NETWORK” and WB. I used to be able to use Gilmore Girls to take a break, what am I supposed to do now, uh? Thanks alot! all i can aske is… WHY?!?!?!??!?!?!
to end this show with neither Rory or Lorelei’s wedding is totally -in your face- to all fans.
Shame on the network, you’re all about money. Period.
I am so upset. I am actually struggling to overcome the situation. I love Luke and Lorlei together and I wanted to see them make up. I wanted to see them get married and have children….
Now I just have to imagine it…
This sucks… Rory should of married Logan! Ridiculous!!! We need a season 8 so they can get back together!!!
Gilmore Girls is the most amazing show that I have ever watched and I refuse to believe that it can be over. I think Alexis Bledel is a big part of the show and I love her story. I think she should think about what she would be giving up if she left the show. If I was her I would strongly consider what I would be giving up. This is so wrong! You just cannot end like that! There is so much left undone! This is really crappy! What is going on CW! I was so excited because you all brought back 7th Heaven. Then you get rid of them, and now Gilmore Girls! This is so wrong! I agree with these bloggers we deserve a proper season finale!
Season 7 was so awful I am almost relieved to see it put out of it’s misery. They cheated us by letting Amy get away, no matter the difficulties in working with her. If they couldn’t do a better job themselves then they never should have tried. The fans will have to rewrite thier won season 7 and give the show a proper finale. 🙁

Please keep this show going.. I love it.. Its the one escape i get on tuesday nights. Dont leave the lovers of the show hanging like that.. Its BS

I was so disappointed and angry to hear that Gilmore Girls will be no longer. It is like a part of your family is gone. I have been a fan of this great show right from the beginning. With so much junk of tv these days, I can’t believe that Gilmore Girls is not important enough. UNREAL.
Dont go…Im from Australia and I absolutely LOVE Gilmore Girls, I’m so depressed, EVERYONE I know loves this show and it just wouldnt be the same. Please stay!
