DNA Info reported that Michael J. LaRue, a man that was a close personal friend of Rue McClanahan up until her death, is opening the Rue La Rue Café, and Betty White will attend the ribbon cutting ceremony.
LaRue said the following about opening up the restaurant:
“I believe I can turn this place into a mini-tourist [hub] in Washington Heights. I believe the neighborhood is going to support this. I believe the population exists here already.”
Inside the restaurant, fans will see items from Rue McClanahan’s own personal collection of items, which LaRue inherited following her death.
