Last week, NBC unveiled their newest legal drama series, Harry’s Law. Interestingly, this isn’t a new Law & Order spin-off but rather the brainchild of David E. Kelley who created shows like ABC’s Boston Legal. He also worked on NBC’s popular LA Law many years ago. Will this legal series last as long as those or be quickly cancelled instead?
Harry’s Law revolves around Harriet “Harry” Korn (Kathy Bates), a curmudgeonly ex-patent lawyer. She’s abruptly fired from her blue chip law firm, forcing her to search for a fresh start. Harry finds it when she meets Malcolm Davies (Aml Ameen), a college student who desperately needs her help and ends up working for her. A young legal hotshot named Adam Branch (Nate Corddry) accidentally hits her and gives up his corporate job to join the team. With the help of Harry’s shoe-obsessed assistant, Jenna (Brittany Snow), they open for business as Harriet’s Law and Fine Shoes.
The TV series debuted last Monday and it attracted an okay 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 11.07 million viewers. It ranked in second place for the timeslot though probably would have been third if Castle had not been a repeat. Though that’s not a great debut, it’s a 47% improvement over Chase’s last original episode in the same timeslot. That’s very positive for NBC.

Last night’s episode of Harry’s Law drew a 2.1 in the demo and 10.43 million viewers. That’s a loss of about 5% in the demo from the premiere but still positive since most shows lose between 10 and 15% of their viewership in week two. Most people who watched last week obviously liked it and returned and perhaps even told a friend or two.
After just two airings, Harry’s Law ranks in sixth place on the list of NBC’s most-watched scripted programs, just below 30 Rock. That’s very positive, especially considering NBC’s string of bad luck in the Mondays at 10pm timeslot. If the series can sustain or even build on these early numbers, it looks certain that NBC will renew it for season two.
But, what do you think? Do you like Harry’s Law? Do you think NBC should keep it going or just cancel it? What do you like or dislike about the new series?

Please keep Harrys Law!!!!!!! It is the best show in years. It makes me laugh and cry at the same time, and when it is all over I always have a good feeling. It is the best of the best.
Thank you .
By far the best show on network TV: it leaves me feeling happy and satisfied.
I never feel a need to express appreciation for a TV show…until now. I absolutely love Harry’s Law. I’m a college educated 60+ guy. I can’t say enough about the thought provoking themes, the ensemble cast and ambience of the show. It’s great. I just hope my minority demographic profile isn’t the only demographic that thinks this show is a keeper!
I love Harrys Law
I love everything about the show funny great actors love them all but……..please do not do the back and white match making
I really like the show I have watched every week, please keep it on the air, however i think lately the little blonde in the office is acting to childish i know that’s the character but for me it is getting boring especially since she started liking the guy in the office she’s to silly same silly line every week. acting to childish, please change the script.
Harrys Law, one of the most interesting programs of this type on now. It is very well done and is an enjoyable show to watch. Do not take it off. What would you replace it with? We watch it every time it is on.
Please keep it on for another season. I don’t usually like TV shows. I usually watch movies. But this show has it all. My husband and I both love it. It is very heart felt and a damn good show!!!!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE KEEP HARRY’S LAW ON THE AIR – WE LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
I don’t know how I am going to survive until David Kelley gets those next episodes 🙁
Get busy. I only watch three hours of TV a week & without Harry’s Law, it will be down
to two hours. Please get busy. It is probably the best show to come along, since I can’t remember. I will be awaiting the next six episodes. Great acting & great get along with everybody. Not found very often in our real world. I vote KEEP IT FOREVER!!!!!
I love Harry’s Law! It’s on late for me, so I DVR it and can’t wait to watch it the next night. I love Kathy Bates, and I love the different characters on there, they are all great. I too always feel good after watching this show. We need that. We have enough garbage tv. Please keep this show.
Harry’s Law is TERRIFIC!!!!! Don’t cancel it. I watch it twice a week. The story lines are very good. Kathy Bates is outstanding in this show!!!!!
Please renew Harry’s Law.
I REALLY LOOK FORWARD SEEING HARRY’S LAW. I LOVE THE CHARACTERS. KATHY BATES IS HILARIOUS. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS ON T.V.
PLEASE DON’T CANCEL THE SHOW. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!!!!!!
I LOVE HARRIET’S LAW. I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE IT. PLEASE DON’T TAKE IT OFF THE AIR . KATHY BATES IS HILARIOUS. THE OTHER CHARACTERS ARE WONDERFUL AS WELL.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DON’T TAKE THIS SHOW OFF THE AIR.
I’m in the legal field and I say keep it! It is a “feel-good” program that is intellectually, emotionally, and relationally refreshing. At the end of every week’s viewing, I still feel “You go Girl!” Kelley has found a way to portray the kind of lawyer we all hope we can find if we need them and a judicial system that does the right thing with what they have in front of them.
PLEASE KEEP IT ON…I LOVE IT…
KEEP IT! A refershing, intelligent, insigtful show-finally! Good story line, excellent charictization. My friends and I all tape it, look forward to the next one.Last week, I was at the dentist and found the whole staff watch it. Kathy Bates, great. Please don’t take it off. Just when we are getting to know Harry’s family… Lots of folkes will be very unhappy.
