Case closed. Court is dismissed. Harry’s Law has been cancelled by NBC after two seasons and 34 episodes.
Harry’s Law revolves around Harriet Korn, a no-nonsense attorney who will take on just about any case as long as she believes in a person’s innocence. Over the course of two seasons, the cast has also included Nate Corddry, Karen Olivo, Justine Lupe, Mark Valley, Christopher McDonald, Brittany Snow, and Aml Ameen.
The show debuted in January 2011 to a 2.2 in the 18-49 demographic with 11.07 million viewers. It was a mediocre demo rating but total viewership was impressive and when you’re NBC, that’s better than nothing. The ratings dwindled downward pretty quickly and the show ended the season with a 1.4 demo rating and 7.75 million.
The series was on the bubble for cancellation but NBC brought it back for a second season. For season two, the show underwent some cast changes, no doubt in hopes of improving the ratings. It didn’t work.

This season, Harry’s Law has averaged a meager 1.1 rating in the desirable demographic and 7.89 million viewers.
On our NBC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative success of shows on the network, Harry’s Law has a “D+” grade and is one of the lowest-rated shows on NBC.
While it’s the second most-watched show on the network, advertisers want to advertise on shows that attract a younger demographic and so the networks must cater to them.
Sadly, the peacock network has cancelled Harry’s Law this time around and the series finale will air next Sunday night. Hopefully the show won’t end on a cliffhanger, making it all the harder for fans to say goodbye.
What do you think? Are you sorry to see Harry’s Law go? Which season did you like better? What would you have liked to see happen in season three?

Does any advertizer realize that the people between 45 and 65 spend more money than the 18 thru 25. What is wrong with you people letting a show like Harry’s Law be canceled. I will not watch NBC again. I will tell all the “OLDER FOLKS” to skip any show that’s on NBC also. I don’t think you realize how many baby boomers are out here now. We can make or break your network just by word of mouth. Kathy Bates is an award winning actress and she is doing a very well written show. An award winning actress and… Read more »
I am sick of demographics! What demographic watches the mindless junk that goes on tv. I have watched every episode of Harry’s Law and find it one of the best hours on tv. I am sick of watching reality shows. What ever happened to entertainment. I now have no reason to watch NBC and probably won’t again. eighteen isn’t the demographic tv should be going after. bring back Harry’s Law And make us dedicated fans happy!!!
Loved the show.. watched it every show. Very sad to see it cancelef. Hope another network picks it up.
NBC hs never known what a good show is. That’s why they are last in the ratings. As for the divert islets, they should realize that th over 35 are 70% of the viewing audience and have the most isposable income. I think NBC needs to find the right advertisers .
I am so tired of quality shows being cancelled because of what NBC states are low ratings. What demographics are you looking at. I love Harry’s Law, it was creative and dealt with current legal issues. It had humor and insight and towered over whats available on TV today. I am tired of every NCIS and Law and Order, and I teach Criminal Justice. I am disgusted turning on the TV and shows like Park and Recreation, Big Bang theory and of course that mesmerizing Two and a half men are all there is to view. Really NBC, give us break.… Read more »
What s mistake. No wonder you rank where you are.
I think NBC will regreat this move. I feel confident one of the cable folks will pick it up. Almost all the good tv is on those channels now anyway.
Once again we will lose a GOOD SHOW!!! Never mind the “younger demographic”.. what about the middle age demographic? We watch TV and spend money! NBC – bring back Harry’s Law, it is one of the best shows in a long time.
Just finished watching tonight’s show. Thank you Harry’s Law for a quality finale. You went out with great dignity. My thanks to Kathy Bates and a great cast.
Love Harry’s Law and disappointed it’s been cancelled. The finale was a class act, but wish these characters were going to be a part of 2012 -2013 season. Great cast, interesting thought provoking story lines. Gonna miss it!
Our family just loved every program from the beginning. We taped the shows and if we were not at home we enjoyed catching up with them. NBC PLEASE resconsider.
More “reality shows” that appeal to the 18-49 demographic???? That’s just what we need – NOT! Soon every show on TV will be pablum to be digested by a brainless audience. C’mon NBC!
Love, love, love the show! David Kelley always has thought provoking, timely topics on this show just as he did in Boston Legal. It made my Sunday evening. Boo to NBC!
Our family, too, loved Harry’s Law. All the cast is fantastic…and Kathy Bates is top of the A-list. The dynamics of the show were awesome. Why is it that all the really good shows that have some “grit” to them and make you think a little bit while also being entertained, are taken off the air? NBC deserves to be in last spot. Maybe some intelligent network will pick up Harry’s law and we won’t lose it forever.
The problem is Harry’s Law gave us all something to think about (Re: the various closing arguments at the trials). We all know that the network czars are not capable of doing that feat; thinking intelligently. Mindlessness is their mantra. Sexual innuendos, stupid dialog, and inane story lines is all they know. Those of us in the 49+ age group know about intelligence, wisdom and good story lines. How about bringing the 18-49 year olds up to our level and help them do something more than immerse themselves in “reality shows” and vulgar comedy shows. BRING BACK HARRY’S LAW!
