AMC has renewed Hell on Wheels for a fourth season of 13 episodes — the historical drama’s biggest order to date. The new episodes will begin airing next summer.
The cable channel was very encouraged by the ratings for season three when the series was moved from Sunday to Saturday nights, an evening known for lower viewership. Hell on Wheels also made it through a series of creative changes has prospered under the direction of showrunner John Wirth. He’ll continue in that role.
“John Wirth and his team on both sides of the camera delivered a remarkable third season and Hell on Wheels fans responded,” said Charlie Collier, AMC president. “AMC has served passionate Western fans for three decades, so it is particularly gratifying to see these viewers capping off their Saturdays with an original Western on what has historically been a tough night of the week for television.”
A decision on the fate of Low Winter Sun hasn’t been announced yet but, thanks to some very low ratings, the show isn’t expected to survive.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear that Hell on Wheels has been renewed for a fourth season?
WHY are you taking Hell on Whels away we new this show back because it is something i love watching with my Mom and now she gone so i have to have this show stay …………i love all the cast they put these series into and understanding that i really never relized they went through back then /….
I normally never ever get caught watching an entire series but I cannot wait to sit down to watch this one. I can never predict what will happen. As soon as I think I have a character figured out……dead and gone happens……
Walking Dead has nothing on “Hell on Wheels”…….
My husband started watching this western on Nexflicks. He said it is a excellent show. I thought ok I am not a fan of westerns but see if it was really a excellent show. I loved it. It is the best western I ever watch. It is really interesting and realistic. I am delighted Hell on wheels will have a fifth and final season. It is great to have a conclusion and final to a great story. Thank you AMC for running a fifth and final season!
love the show I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT WEEK TO SEE IT.
I truly loved the whole 3 seasons and watched episodes 1 & 2 of season 4.
Captivating, gripping and so wonderfully entertaining. As a musician, I loved the music especially in the 3rd season….. The hottest blues in the world… My heartiest congratulations to all the production and acting teams… I hope you make 10 seasons, not just 4.
Thank you,
Hossam
Love the show and hope it continues.
Looking forward to the renewal. Sorry we lost “Common”, but Bohannon had no choice; November 7 is not the return as was announced?
“A Pride”
