Josh Holloway enjoyed a long run on Lost but unfortunately he hasn’t been as lucky with Intelligence. The CBS TV show has now been cancelled after one season of 13 episodes.
On Intelligence, Gabriel Vaughn (Holloway) is a high-tech intelligence operative who’s been enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. It allows him to be connected directly into the global information grid. Other castmembers include Marg Helgenberger, Meghan Ory, Michael Rady, John Billingsley, P. J. Byrne, Tomas Arana, Lance Reddick, and Peter Coyote.
After the failure of Hostages, the network was hoping for Intelligence to be a ratings hit to fill their Mondays at 10pm timeslot. It wasn’t to be. Despite some impressive star talent and special effects, the show couldn’t draw enough viewers.
The network debuted it after NCIS on a Tuesday night and the show drew decent numbers but, once it moved to its regular Monday night slot, the ratings tanked. The season of 13 episodes averaged a 1.3 demo rating with 6.85 million viewer, making it one of the lowest-rated shows on the network.
That wasn’t good enough to mandate a second season renewal so Intelligence has been cancelled. The final episode aired on March 31st.
What do you think? Did you like this Josh Holloway series? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?
Please bring Intelligence back for Season 2. I’m so disappointed that it was cancelled! The series actually had great actors and actresses in it with no nudity and sex, just great writing and acting, with interesting stories with a lot of imagination. Gee, what a wonderful change from current shows that base their stories on sexual scenes, nudity, and graphic violence (or all of the above) and that are void of interesting topics, all for ratings and not the pleasure and support of the public who have any sense to not watch them. Marg, Josh and Meghan are the best.… Read more »
When networks start discussing ratings, maybe they should remember there are more than 3 networks sharing the audience these days! I watch several networks and but only a small amount of programs. Intelligence is one program and it was one of the best out there! Internet networks are very successful with a few thousand viewers. All this to say, give the shows a chance to be viewed! We have a lot to watch and toss out these days! It amazes me how some shows are cancelled and some show, I wonder how could it possibly still be on TV; stay… Read more »
Not the brightest move – this was an awesome dhow with great potential and some cool sub plots CBS what are you thinking!?!?!? Bring it back!
This is really upsetting, my whole family loved this show, Tuesday night was perfect for the show, when it moved to Monday we struggled with two great shows at the same time. We ended up recording Intelligence, while watching our other show, but that doesn’t mean that CBS should cancel a show, without giving it a real chance. Networks really should give viewers a voice in the cancellation and renewing of shows, there would be a huge turn around with the quality of television. I also feel that when a show is cancelled, they should put out one last final… Read more »
I’m from india. i watch dis show n love it plz dont cancel it
I loved the show… all these horrible shows made it to another season but they cancelled this one. Terrible just terrible!!!! Can it be saved???
Oh no. What can we do to get it back?
Once again a big time tv network pulls the plug on what could have been a great show. I watched it every monday after i got home from work, all be it it was on the pvr but i still watched it. I wonder if their ratings take into account people that actaully have to work for a living and cant be glued in front of the tv 24 hours a day 7 days a week. most of my tv time comes because i can pvr. Im getting so sick and tired of reality tv this reality tv that put… Read more »
OMG!!! Why did you cancel this show??? They needed this show on a different night… I was excited to see a 2nd season only to see it’s cancelled…. stupid
I can’t believed they cancelled this show. They should have moved it to a different day. The network never listens to viewers.
Aww man, tonight I just started watching some of my favourite shows that just started their latest season, then I thought I’d look and see when season 2 comes out for Intelligence. I can’t bloody believe they cancelled this show, the story line was amazing, the acting was fantastic, the special effects were outstanding, not to mention the humor in it had me laughing out loud every time… Not to mention this show was different to anything else on television, which is what we need these days. Look at all the t.v series we have now, they are all the… Read more »
I totally agree with everything in your comment!! CBS never gives any new show a real chance. I’m pretty sick of all of the so-called reality shows. Except the original, Survivor. Intelligence was something different. What a waste of great talent. I was so looking forward to a 2nd season of Intelligence. Now, I’m just bumbed.
I loved Intelligence!!! Why does CBS always cancel their best shows? I’m so disappointed. I think I’m just going to stop watching CBS altogether. What’s the point? They get you all excited & into a show, then pull the rug out from under it. They never give any show a chance. Boo CBS!!! I hope Josh Holloway finds a new home soon. Hopefully not with CBS…
I went through “Intelligence” withdrawals all summer, now I face emptiness. Networks=not intelligent.
Really…. Loved this show. A new show does not stand a chance on Monday night with Monday Night Football.
Please bring it Back!!!!!
Pliz dont cancel intelligence. It was rily nice n i was totally looking forward to season2.. it qas amazing n had a unique storyline. I was hooked right from the first episode
