Josh Holloway enjoyed a long run on Lost but unfortunately he hasn’t been as lucky with Intelligence. The CBS TV show has now been cancelled after one season of 13 episodes.
On Intelligence, Gabriel Vaughn (Holloway) is a high-tech intelligence operative who’s been enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. It allows him to be connected directly into the global information grid. Other castmembers include Marg Helgenberger, Meghan Ory, Michael Rady, John Billingsley, P. J. Byrne, Tomas Arana, Lance Reddick, and Peter Coyote.
After the failure of Hostages, the network was hoping for Intelligence to be a ratings hit to fill their Mondays at 10pm timeslot. It wasn’t to be. Despite some impressive star talent and special effects, the show couldn’t draw enough viewers.
The network debuted it after NCIS on a Tuesday night and the show drew decent numbers but, once it moved to its regular Monday night slot, the ratings tanked. The season of 13 episodes averaged a 1.3 demo rating with 6.85 million viewer, making it one of the lowest-rated shows on the network.
That wasn’t good enough to mandate a second season renewal so Intelligence has been cancelled. The final episode aired on March 31st.
What do you think? Did you like this Josh Holloway series? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?
I don’t think you can judge intelligently viewing once and for one season.
Greetings to you. I so much love this TV series. And I would be very happy and grateful if, season can be added. Thank you.
1st of all
I’m a big fan and please continue the season2
A great series that should have gone really far… Pls continue the season 2
We want 2 see the season2 of Intelligence US pls I beg uu
The show was cancelled because it crossed the line on real-world classified experimental intelligence technology being conducted by DARPA with actual human test subjects – Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan who suffered TBIs and have memory issues – hoping to restore and improve their memory and cognitive abilities are now volunteering (since 2014) as patients of the Department of Veterans Affairs for this project.
I just finished watching 1st season in one day need more please reconsider 2nd season CBS I really loved the series and I hope it continues farther fingers crossed
Intelligence was an interesting series and I watched all 13 episodes in a day this year in 2019. Cohesiveness with the episodes could have done better as well as a more zonked up central character like the way Nikita was but with a micro chip in her head. The plots provoked my interest as a viewer but the action should have been taken up a notch. Otherwise today I think season two would get good ratings. An opinion poll would be a place to start to see if it could get the necessary ratings.
Please reconsider and give us season 2 CBS!
Okay so I just finished my Intelligence season 1 binge. Pretty cool show but in my view not good enough for a 2nd season. Though I would have liked to watch as the chemistry between Gabe and Riley grow into something more, it just wouldn’t have been enough to keep me glued. This was possibly one of CBS’s considerations. The series may have ended with the revelation that Lillian’s father is the one who employed Mei Chan, but so what, that’s not a strong enough cliffhanger to commission a second season. If the production team of Intelligence wanted a second… Read more »
please give us season 2
So how on earth did they cancelled such great show? It’s a shame this soon to be a great show gone that quick. Can it be resurrected? Can somebody bring it back. Been watching this season 1 over and over.
I wish they can continue the series it’s awesome
CBS always cancels good series. This was such a cool series. Just wish there was more to watch
His series is fantastic, season two please
Just saw the pilot. A shame it was cancelled. Good start
The show probably was too smart and intricate for the average low IQ TV consumer in this here Canada.
