TVGuide is reporting that NBC has unceremoniously cancelled Las Vegas after five seasons on the air.
Las Vegas debuted on September 22, 2003 and was touted as actor James Caan’s first series regular role on television. The Academy Award-nominated actor was cast as the Montecito casino’s Head of Security, ‘Big Ed’ Deline. Others in the cast have included Nikki Cox, Josh Duhamel, James Lesure, Vanessa Marcil, Molly Sims, and Marsha Thomason.
Caan left the series last year to return to his movie career and Cox was cut from the show in a cost-cutting move. Caan was replaced by Tom Selleck and it was hoped that the addition of the veteran TV actor would help revitalize the series. It didn’t and, coupled with the series’ move to Friday nights, the ratings dropped significantly.
Last year, Las Vegas was one of the earliest NBC shows to get a renewal notice. What a difference a year can make.
NBC has opted not to renew Las Vegas for season six. Unlike Friday Night Lights, Vegas apparently doesn’t warrant shopping to other possible outlets and fans of the series are left with a cliffhanger. The last two episodes aired last Friday and was first in the ratings for both hours, Unbeknownst to viewers at the time, it was likely the last time we’ll see the staff of the Montecito. Stay tuned!
I am furious! I absolutely love Las Vegas. Ive been watching the seasons repeatedly thinking I missed the last episode. I just finished watching 3 weddings and a funeral. I was in tears at the end. Then it says “To be continued”. Continued to what?!?!?! The next episode is the very first episode of Las Vegas! So thats when I decided to get on this website to see why it wasnt on. Come to find out its because there is no continued episode. You lied to us NBC! How can you cancel the show leaving us with Delinda bleeding?!!! What… Read more »
I have been watching this show on TNT since I have not been working. I am sorry I never watched it on NBC. When I checked and realized that it got cancelled I was sad. Hope some network out there is willing to pick this show up, its definately worth it.
I would hope the producers will find another network to pick up Las Vegas, possibly TNT or USA. Its a shame that it got cancelled for financial reasons. I for one hate all of the cheap so called reality TV schlock that has taken over the networks…I can’t wait for the day they are gone for good!
Hopefully someone will be vigilant enough to bring Las Vegas back!
nbc. can’t you at least wrap things up with a tv special like other stations do. something so we can have closure.
This show has got to be one of the best shows that i’ve ever seen, and i seriously wish that it would be brought back. It definitely has another good season left in it. Dont let it become one of the shows that is just left hanging.
Bring it back!!!!
One of the best series someone could ever make. And there aren’t a lot of them.
Please, make the further seasons.
But to stay ‘within the original’ can be a problem.
A fan from Belgium.
What a show! How can you just cancel the show after such an ending. We are fans from Holland and spend many nights watching teh show. We committed ourselfs to the show. You can’t possibly dissapoint your audience this way! It’s all about the money, they just want more money, meanwhile they forget that they are letting us down! Being on a show and being famous comes with responsibility towards fans… DONT FORGET THAT!! We are angry
Las Vegas is the best of the best, the whole story with the action, drama, love and friendship is just incredible, This is a show worth watching, The atmosphere the was build in the casino between the people was really on of a kind, too bad you almost don`t see that staff in real life. I just love this show.
JUST BRING IT BACK NBC

You know why the show was cancelled , to many good looking european looking actors.
I am gutted – it has just ended here in SA and Monday nights will never be the same again!! Bring back Las Vegas!
first, NBC takes off james caan(taking away the mob aspect of the show), which seriously changed the direction of the show. and then they throw in tom selleck( who is an amazing actor) but he doesnt really compliment the show at all with his rancher lifestyle. to leave us hanging the way you(NBC) did was totally un professional. I WILL NEVER WATCH A SHOW ON NBC AGAIN BECAUSE I WILL NEVER KNOW IF IT WILL END PROPERLLY OR EVEN END AT ALL.
